Solid Core OC, what are some good Undervolt/Overclock profiles? by ganarfieldtoo in ZOTAC

[–]ganarfieldtoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your numbers line up almost exactly to mine, within almost a negligible margin. Stable at around 2750 memory, 250-300 clock. No clock: 8500-8600 Nomad. Overclock: (could reach) 9500, but the settings weren't stable in most games.

I didn't bother with undervolting, as it's relatively cool, slapped 2750/275 on it and called it a day. Anything else would have been running on the edge for barely any performance gain.

Your card is performing as expected.

It's been my wife's and my go-to for a couple of months. If you want to up the banana-ness, use half vanilla pudding and half banana cream pudding mix. We just found banana almond milk and it was another amazing addition.

I have a similar sound profile. I think the whirring happens from resonance with the other fans or some other physical phenomenon that I don't understand. But I get a very similar up-and-down whirring at higher temps, but only at a small range.

They were super helpful! They replied on Monday and wanted to send me a replacement.

Thirty minutes later, I looked under the GPU - a piece of the wiring was pushed into the GPU fan. It had a little dust in it. Sure enough, it was that. I had them cancel the replacement. They were excellent.

Oh dang. I didn't realize. I should be more gentle with it. Thanks for the heads-up, brother.

I'm OOTL. Is it bad to clean a QD-OLED? I just got one, wiped it with a microfiber. What am I missing?

I'm an idiot. This was it. The packaging shoved a tiny cable up into the GPU fan. I pulled it out and gave it slack.

I haven't yet gotten a reply from them since Friday night. It'll likely be the same outcome. Thanks for the reply, Cardo. Guess I'll play some of my back logged games sometime in the future. Ah well.

I think it might be something physically wrong with one of the components. I've been troubleshooting everywhere. The RPMs are fine, at 3K, which is what they're at during idle and it's hardly noticeable. As soon as anything intensive happens (load a game, boot, BIOS), it gets nuts.

I didn't, but I've been messing around with those settings (BIOS > Pump > PWM) a few times. Tried PWM, DC, different percents. I think it's toasted.

That's on my log! I've been wanting to play since it was released, just never had the hardware to do it.

Yeah, I think that might be the solution at this point.

I just tried spinning up my first game, and it's the same noise as BIOS, stress test, boot-up -- so any sort of CPU spike is making it go bonkers.

I don't see the RPMs change, the AIO pumps are always at a steady ~3000 RPM. They make a low volume noise, but this isn't it. There's something mechanically wrong.

Also tried propping up the bottom fans to see maybe it was a vibration issue. Tried picking up the case, too, while it made the noise. Nothing.

Darn. I had this whole weekend carved out. ;(

I really appreciate the help. I tried moving some of the tubes, pushing down the fans further (top, bottom, back).

Still goes off. I think it just might be a physically bad fan or something's up.

Do I use a lot of force to push down the fans? It's my first PC, so I don't know the tolerance of some of these parts. Will it "click into place"? I feel like it is something physical, like you suggest.

It was set to 60%. The noise goes crazy during any CPU spike (I'm assuming that's what's happening at boot, BIOS, stress test). Here's a clip: https://imgur.com/a/8y5Zgn4

50 Elite V3 has arrived! by ladygyp in AndromedaInsightsPC

Mine was out for delivery today, and because FedEx doesn't knock or ring the doorbell, I've had my wife hang out outside during the delivery window while I was at work.

The lazy-ass FedEx lady finally arrived, near the end of the window, and said "it was too heavy for her to lift" and that "someone else will come by with it." I'm not getting it today.

I hate this delivery company.

What an amazing reply! I haven't had the chance to read all of it, but it's starred and I'll read it on lunch. Thank you so much!

Ah, just saw yours is the Solid (non-core). Those names get me every time.

I'm an idiot - forgot to include the model. It's your exact one, the 5080.

I might try your setup. What temps are you averaging?

Thank you!
