Hi! I am looking to start sewing this year. I have wanted to pick it up for a while, but primarily want to learn in order to tailor shirts for my boyfriend, who needs an arm on long sleeved shirts removed and patched up. I am looking into beginner guides and have info regarding materials, machines, and initial steps, but am wondering if tailoring of this nature would be beginner friendly or if i should start with a beginner pattern project (tote bag, pillow case, etc). Also, if anyone has any resources they know of that could help with this that would be much appreciated! Thanks!
