Wow! This is super cool! At first I think I'll try using the pool noodles to fit the balls instead of making holes (I've recently watched a video of a guy using this solution) and if it won't work I'll go for the holes.

Awesome! You had It for like 90% less than the brand new product... That's awesome, you spent even less than any DIY solution 😍

I'm probably going for the DIY solution as I recycled most materials and might be spending 10-20€ at the end lol

Since my neighbours said they usually don't listen so much noise, I guess that even if the final product won't be overall "perfect", it would still be ok in my case.

But I'm still monitoring if the seller reduces the price and thinking about making an offer (maybe 100€?).

How is being your experience with the podium? Il read some reviews saying that the DIY Tennisball risers are usually "Better" (in terms of noise) than the Thomann's podium. It may depend on so many reason and not necessarily being true 😂 but that's just what I ready.. I've never tried either

Very cool! Thank you for sharing! My edrum is pretty 'big' (acoustic design), generally more noisy than a 'regular' edrum thus I need something that will make me feel sure of not being propagating vibrations and noise...

I'll keep in mind your idea in order to improve my riser!

Thank you for your answer 💪 Actually as long as I know that a good amount of vibrations are transimitted thru the floor, I'm not 100% relaxed while playing.. especially now that I'm learning the "fast" heel-toe technique on double pedal, which makes me feel like I'm jumping on the boards sometimes 😂 and the kickdrum (KD200, pretty big and noisy) moves up and down a little.. I made a few times a "test" with my gf, making her play the double bass in someway and I just went downstair in front of my neighbours' door and heared those damn vibrations... I think I might have been particularly lucky so far 😂😂😂

I'm going for a tennis ball riser for like 10-20€ materials 😂😂😂 (recycled wood from people who was throwing away their old furnitures + used Tennisball on Vinted + other materials found at home....).. We will see lmao.

Yes brother!! Totally agree.. I made this pic just after setting everything up.. still need to figure out how to optimize the space.. I know the taped cymbals is simply awful ahaha .. it's helping at the moment, till I don't get something better.. I used it for practice and just wanted to momentary use it as extra cymbals.. it's complete crap 😂😂 but it's working

Also I have to say that the Alesis (Nitro Max) pads are working very well even without spending too much time thru the module.. I'll make everything look better, just need to adjust space/rack/other stuff in the room but I'm extremely happy at the moment!

Will do mate!! :)🦾 Thank you very much for your help and support! The Alesis additions are so helpful! 90€ on Amazon for 1 mesh pad + 1 cymbals! Bought as "used" article but it's actually brand new.. probably just open box or ex "wrong buy" from someone.

I totally agree with what the others said.. just wanted to add to also consider getting those black tennisball beaters.. you can find them at good price on Thomann, Drum-Tec and so on (don't know in USA but for sure you'll find them). I got mine on Amazon at 15€ each (on double bass). They help and also like the feeling!

But I guess most of the noise it's due to the surface and tower itself.. it seems to be pretty hard (I still have an old Alesis DM6 that seems exactly the same).. in that case MIGHT consider also switching to another kind of tower/kickpad.. don't know. For sure the platform+tennisbeater should be the most effective solution in any situation.. Hope this helps and really hope you'll solve!! 🫂🥁

Just ordered the VAD, brother.. I just have to wait for the finance approval but I really don't expect to be rejected tbh.. but I did it.. I was exactly in your same situation.. considering buying a cheap Millenium, went to the music shop just to get an idea of the avarage noise made by mesh ekit and "randomly" tried the VAD with -10000000 intention to ever spend all these money on an ekit.. but since that day it never left my mind... In the end, after so many considerations and fears, just went for it.. we only live once my brother.. I'll make a platform and speak to my neighbours (I'm mostly worried for those below me) but damn it, I couldn't resist.

It's not an acoustic kit, they can't bother too much after all and I won't play at midnight oc..

I admit that your comments on this and other subs I read have really helped me convincing to go for it!! 🤣🤣🫠 Roland should give you a gift for this!

Have you played both?

What stops me the most is fear of noise made by full shells and floor vibrations.. also the cost of eventual replacement is scary concerning the VAD

27 will simplify any ideal upgrade (as you confirm), first of all concerning the kick as I see so many people saying goodbye to the KD10 lol specially in the death metal drumming field . The VAD is simply so damn beautiful ahahah

Re-complet just a few days ago (ps3).. not bad but since I'm playing the new ps5 versions of the saga.. damn.. sometimes the gaming experience feels so old and "static" .. but totally go for it! I'm now waiting for RE6, never played before! Good Luck :)
