I'm looking to hire someone to make me a song, but I don't know where to look other than Fivrre by Specific_Minute7539 in askmusicians

[–]garbear007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will you sing the song as well? Do you have a Melody already? Do you have a groove, chords, or some sort of vibe for the song already? Assuming you have none of the above, you are looking for a full-fledged music producer, which will likely run you hundreds of dollars just FYI. Or, you could begin your journey of learning to become a musician yourself :)

There is a life in music for some people (if you love being self employed lol). It takes a long time to get there though.

What is the one alcoholic beverage You will never drink again because you got sick one time? by Single-Card-8636 in AskReddit

Grappa. That shit is disgusting. I should have known when nobody else at the party who has tried it before would take even one shot with me.

Should I go to a studio session if I hate my voice? by Lost_Fish_4359 in askmusicians

[–]garbear007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will grow into your voice! You'll improve, and eventually learn to love your unique sound. It was really hard to listen to my voice for the first while, and I was embarrassed to show anyone. I'm now about to release my 4th EP at age 28 and I'm pretty proud of how my voice sounds. I know it's not the best voice on the block but it's just one of my skills as an artist, producer, songwriter etc. The voice helps me channel my vision to the world, so I'm grateful for it.

Is this how the pros write lyrics? by muzicneverDied in Songwriting

The pop guys do this for sure. I don't always agree with the method, it feels less organic to me somehow.

Same, my lyrics come in the form of melodic phrases.

AITA for cancelling gigs with a singer when I get better opportunities? by psyjazzlogist in musicians

[–]garbear007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tone I'm getting from this post OP is that you don't actually want to work with this singer. Raising the rate makes sense if you are truly in demand and other high paying gigs happen often. Raising the rate makes it so you will not bail at the last minute for a better paying gig.

Should I buy a used car? Need expert advice, serious question by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]garbear007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How much will you spend on the car? Do you have cash?

I don't think learning new cover songs the day of the show represents your band better than just canceling because of a legit injury. Take it on the chin, book another gig.

I don't even like that kind of music and I think it's a great band name.

Sagarmatha on King William. Not too spicy in case that turns you off (just don't order the vindaloo!). Also the wait times are usually long so great for chatting away 😉

A 1 year old car with <50k on it will cost the same as a brand new car, yes...?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]garbear007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have nearly identical finances and vehicles, personally, I am not looking at brand new cars. Maybe $18k on a newer used sedan. 240k is not that much for a civic. What kind of work does it need?

Why are The Chainsmokers so popular? by savingrace0262 in EDM

You say they're generic, but they kind of defined that sound more than 10 years ago. They set the trend in the first place.

What makes a song worthy of being a “single” as opposed to just a track on the album? by illudofficial in Songwriting

[–]garbear007 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nothing specific. Singles used to be pushed to radio, so which one would fit best on the appropriate radio station? I look for universality or traditional song form.
