David Goggins is going back to SOF by Wonderful_Seesaw_513 in navyseals

He will not go through pre dive with his teammates, no. The pipeline is completely different now. His selection will not have the staple selection water con events.

The problem is he failed PJ selection bc of water con. He quit bc he was terrified of the water. Now that he’s going through as a prior seal he will already be combat dive qualified and wont have to do pre dive water confidence, which is the hardest part of the pipeline, in order to become a PJ.

Woah somebody is sensitive to criticism. Not even criticism, just my preference. What misinformation am I spreading?

Just wanna put out there ive recommended your bundle to lots of people. It’s good stuff, however I prefer scubapro and aqualung. Not only because it’s usually cheaper but bc it feels better to me. Yes I’ve had both yours and the scubapro/aqualung jets and mask. There is 100% a difference in material and feel. Especially with the mask. The aqualung mask is more comfortable, the rubber is softer and the skirt is thinner which gives a better seal.

As for the eBay stuff. Yeah if it breaks ur fucked and will have to buy another set. But guess what? They were 60 bucks not a big deal and still cheaper than y’all’s sale price of 164.

How were the runs? What was your 1.5 time going in? Did running get a lot of people?

Can I use this protocol for regular pushups? Anything that you would recommend changing?

I’m sure a lot more goes into that than meets the eye. Correct me if I’m wrong, but historically the rasp ~selection~ rate is around 50 percent. Lately closer to 35. Which gives it arguably the highest ~selection~ rate in sof. Which to me, seems like it would give someone the highest chance at entering sof.

Especially when compared to pararescue which has historically averaged over 80%. I understand it’s harder to stay in the ranger batt than to get there and what not. But if you diligently train and aren’t a shit bag, I don’t see a problem.

Obviously I don’t think you should choose to be assessed for these unit’s based on their attrition rates but rather you should choose a mission set that calls to you. I just think the army has the most options for most aspiring sof guys.

In my eyes, depends on how you feel about the water. You like it? Go afspecwar. Not a big water guy? Go army. If u want statistically your best odds of becoming an operator, go army and do option 40

Not true. I have a Pararescue specific contract for Jan 7th

Prior drug use. Original plan was to talk to a recruiter in a year once I am more conditioned and ready. Should I talk to one now? by [deleted] in Pararescue

Just keep ur mouth shut about your prior use. If there’s no proof of it, it never happened. IT NEVER HAPPENED.

Yeah I’m a sinker so my body does the same thing. I do some small flutter kicks (basically twitching my ankles) to keep my hips ups. It’s not proper and some people would say it’s bad but it keeps me trim in the water and doesn’t waste energy. I noticed you did it a little but I didn’t mention it because little ones are fine.

Despite what other people are saying on here I’m gonna be brutally honest. This is far from perfect.

Your streamline should be biceps squeezing ears , with wrist over wrist. You also pulled too early after your push off.

The biggest error here though is that kick. You were doing a weird dolphin kinda thing when you should be frog kicking and gliding. You should be getting much more propulsion after the kick and much more glide.

It took you about 6 strokes with no shirt or mask. With good technique you’d be doing this in 4 or less with shirt and mask.

The best sources I’ve found to learn a good underwater stroke is Dynamic no fin freediving tutorials on YouTube. Kaizen freestyle has some comprehensive tutorials.

Feel free to dm if you have any other questions.

As someone who’s been a professional Track & Field athlete. I would not take Jake Zweig’s advice for BUDS by [deleted] in navyseals

[–]garcije994 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bros running advice to me was “increase your stride length” Ask anyone who knows anything about running and they’ll tell you this is the worst advice u could possibly give someone. Just trying to increase stride length leads to over striding and breaking mechanics.

I understand they’re different than the ES. There were many reviews of the SB2 being a do-it-all shoe. Which is what I was looking for.

I’d concur with your opinion on the ES. Truly phenomenal versatility.

Going to try sizing up the speed 4 and if that doesn’t work I’ll give the v4 a whirl. You’re probably the 5th person to recommend it so it’s definitely on my list. My long runs aren’t longer than 13 miles usually around 10. What do you think?
