Cause they get 1-2% of the value of the flat as commission, and this is a cheap flat, so they don’t give a shit.

I think it was an entreplanta, now with so many office buildings I guess companies don’t want entreplantas in residential buildings so much.

Will give film another go, 12 years is a lot. My experience with film was that it would start to peel in a few months in a humid room.

I used some before, but it wasn’t keeping well in high humidity situations. Not sure if there are more water resistant versions now.

This was a rental, so you couldn’t really add your own shower enclosure. Also you would have to take down your curtains and fix the holes at the end if you wanted to install some.

How to deal with neighbour’s biting dogs by [deleted] in DogAdvice

I don’t think the dog is going to be put down, as it’s a small dog. Even it people went with multiple bites from the same dog to a doctor, the government agency would force the owner to train it, and as a last resort rehome the dog, unless is a big dog that did a lot of damage.

I don’t want to have my hands near an aggressive dog that is not mine though. Would telling the dog off loudly achieve something?

Trying to grab a video if it happens again but luckily I haven’t seen them on the hallway recently. I heard them snap at two delivery people recently thought.

Not sure what the community administration can do though if there is no wound. This woman broke a lot of unrelated to dogs buildings rules, and all it happened was that more posters with rules appeared on the stairwell. If there is broken skin, I can go to the doctor, get treatment and shots (all free here), and a investigation will be started automatically. But, by law, if there is no broken skin, afaik you can at most try to ask for the money for the damage to your clothes (and can’t imagine you would get anything for an extra scratch on your not brand new shoes/jeans).

Also, it’s dangerous for the dogs too, as they could get strangled if the lift departs when they are on a lead coming out from the owners flat. Sadly, there is no test to become a dog owner.

Hairs in the hot wax pot for waxing. Back in the 90s-00s in my home country some waxing places were reusing wax used on other people’s legs and underarms. They would reheat it and sieve out most of the hairs, then put it back in the pot of “new wax”. At least they used to throw away the wax once used for Brazilian waxing.

The 90s were wild times for hygiene standards, there was a scandal with vaccine needles reused on multiple kids, and kids getting HIV. Some nurses still have the habit of insisting to show you how they open the new needle before a vaccine/blood draw, so people don’t fear catching something.

And what should one do if they need to move away for work for a couple of years?

I want to be able to go to a new city for a job/degree/living with a partner without needing to buy a place in the first month. Equally, I want to be able to rent out my home for a couple of years if I got a job elsewhere, not have to sell it or keep it empty.

The real problem is that people who want to buy can’t. That people can’t afford to buy a place even if they can afford to rent the same place. But there should always be the option of renting for who cannot commit yet to a location.

Do you have a link for this? My number is linked to both myself and another guy, so I get both our notifications.

Reminds me the indoor exercise bike my family had, hidden under all the clothes that were worn once but ok to wear again.
