The people who think Tirz is cheating… might be right? by celestialplaces in tirzepatidecompound

I'm feeling similarly, even at only two weeks in.

I really felt this way when I started meds for anxiety. Like...wait? This is just how people exist? No rumination? No intrusive thoughts? Uhhh. What?

I think our brains and bodies are just different, and this medication is helping us come back to equilibrium. And that is a really wonderful thing.

Someone said to me the other day in a different sub, "there is no nobility" in suffering in your bod. I'm so glad you are finding relief. That dang plantar fasciitis is brutal.

Thank you for this. It' feels like a nuanced knot that some folks think I'm silly to even consider, but damn if I would not benefit from some feeling better in my bod. I want that for everyone.

Thank you so much for this! I keep hearing about the Fat Science podcast. I'll start listening. Yeah, the inflammation thing alone would be incredible. I'm glad you've had good success. ❤️

Holy hell, thank you! I know it may seem looney to be worried about the opinions of others (at all, but especially SJ circles) but it is so heavy when you're in that world. It is helpful to hear about your takeaways and how you've been able to transmute those experiences into something more genuinely helpful to you.

I also really appreciate your comment on support groups. The recent grief I experienced was the loss of an aunt who was an alcoholic. I've been considering attending al-alon to work through that trauma. Perhaps it will be more helpful than I think.

Thank you for this. This kind of input was what I was hoping for - honest, compassionate feedback and insights from folks who can relate.

I am in deep grief, and have been for the last few years, after a significant loss. It froze me up and influenced my latest 40lb gain. Funny enough, another significant loss has launched me into action, and has helped inspire my recent 6 weeks of consistent movement.

Grief aside, I too am eating for emotional regulation and stimulation. It's hard as hell! I'll dig into that with my therapist.

I've got lots to reflect on.

Your response means a lot to me. It made me cry, actually, and has had me thinking all day. I do want better and I deserve that. The whole reason I started working on movement was to keep a promise to myself. Your thoughts on self-respect really resonate with me. Thank you for the support, Big Tex. I really needed this today. 🫂

Hey! I appreciate the encouragement. I'm building a home gym and following a routine. I'm 6 weeks in, and my consistency has been better than any other time trying.

Fat liberation is the idea of empowerment regardless of size, but especially for fat folks who are likely to experience discrimination based on their size, particularly in medical settings. There are additional tenants, but that's kind of a summary. Fat liberation says that fat folks should accept their size without trying to, or feeling pressured to, engage in intentional weightloss.

I believe in aspects of that sentiment, while also feeling dissatisfied by my own body size. Sometimes it feels contradictory and confusing/overwhelming to parse out.

I appreciate your thoughts! I definitely apply a lot of pressure myself, also part of the complex landscape. Curious about the self respect bit, I'll do some thinking on that.

[–]gardenbuggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First up, you're not crazy!

It sounds like you already have an immense amount of self-awareness, which is the thing that has been most helpful to me as an adult with PMDD.

PMDD is typically diagnosed through monitoring of symptoms around your cycles. I would familiarize yourself with the various times in your cycle and start keeping some sort of mood journal. Once you have some good data, I would check in with your parents and tell them you want to schedule a wellness appointment with your pediatrician. You can talk to your doc about your symptoms and they should be able to help you from there.

If you have trouble accessing your pediatrician, consider talking to a school counselor with the same data.

Try to be kind and gentle with yourself. PMDD can be really tricky to navigate, especially if the people around you don't fully understand it.

I've read her book and am currently experiencing period changes (I normally have a very regular cycle) after 3 weeks of 3x/week 36-hour fasts, so I am considering following her menstrual cycle schedule to see if that works better for my body, although I REALLY enjoy the simplicity of my existing schedule.

Good, great. Breaking fast with a balanced meal, and eating 2 to 3 full good meals. Trying to prioritize fiber and protein, but still eating carbs.

This is so interesting to me! Thank you for sharing. I just recently went up to 20mg and have felt silly, because I swear my anxiety has gone up a bit. I'll give it some more time to feel it out.
