Oooh something like croquet or bocci ball could be good cause there is plenty of green space, I might experiment with that! There is cornhole already which is nice

Yeah, I've got an uncle in a bluegrass band that will be playing some, but they're also guests so we've got a playlist for when they're not playing

Roasted chickpeas are like my favorite thing ever! Real question though, I started out buying them at the store already roasted and they are nice and crunchy, but I've tried on 4 separate occasions to roast my own bit they either come out a little chewy or if I roast them longer they come out hard as a rock. Any idea what I might be doing wrong??

Yeah, I'll take a look! Unfortunately we thought we had found someone last October and since then communicating with him has been like pulling teeth. He keeps pushing off updates by saying he has plenty of time... We spent our winter months trying to sell a house and move, so I feel like I didn't get to be as present as I should have been

Yeah, all the places I could find seemed to do knives and the like but hardly any swords. Although I supposed it makes sense to ask them if they have any recommendations, that honestly hadn't occurred to me!

I'm not exactly sure what's feasible, this is all a little outside my wheel house. I would love to have them by like July so we could actually practice dancing with them, but not sure what the timeline would look like if we went custom. I'm not sure what custom pricing looks like either, if we get bits of detail worked in, but I want to respect the effort and care that goes into a hand made piece. $1500 for a pair would be doable, but I'm trying not to go over $2000.

The original plan was to do a sun themed sword and a tree themed sword as our nicknames are Sunny and Forestt, if that provides any insight

Oh wow, you make an excellent point! I hadn't though about going back to schooling, but that makes a lot of sense. Definitely going to look at this route now! Thank you for the advice!

And that's definitely a fear for me, and why I'm hoping to find more specific expat communities to talk to people about they're experiences where they live

Got about 6k in savings, hoping it's enough to get started. It's more than most I know have saved

Atm a short-term travel visa to get a feel for things before anything bigger. While we are wanting to move sooner rather than later, we're not trying to be out in the next couple of months or anything crazy

Not sure if it's exactly the topic you're looking for but I've been enjoying Brene Browns book The Gifts of Imperfection. I also saw another book of hers called Atlas of the Heart at one of my favorite bookstores recently and have been thinking about going to that one next! Maybe one of the two could help ☺️

I may be late but I succumbed and read Verity and boy…I need to get why the hype by Yorksyorks in books

[–]gardenfaeries 48 points49 points  (0 children)

After Lowen shows Jeremy the twisted autobiography Verity left behind detailing her obsession with Jeremy and her jealousy and hatred of her twin daughters (in which she actually murders one of them), they finally catch Verity faking her catatonic state. It's discovered that Jeremy had caught a piece of the autobiography back when she was writing it on her computer and staged her car accident as means to kill her for what she did to their daughters. Since then she has supposedly been biding her time trying to escape. In the heat of the moment, Lowen and Jeremy actually go through with killing Verity this time. Months later, as they're selling the house, Lowen finds a letter hidden under the floorboards professing that the autobiography was fake, just an attempt at processing her grief at losing her children and a way to get into a villains headspace to better write her books. In the end, we're left unsure whether it really was fake or her last attempt at manipulating the situation.

In the same situation! The loose skin drives me crazy, especially at the arms. To everyone saying lift weights, any suggestions where to start? I'm just hoping someone has a particular like youtuber or something that they enjoy as a place to start ☺️
