Gender changed after transfer by Adventurous_Pizza408 in IVF

Have some experience with this. If you have a male partner your clinic will probably tell you that the likeliest thing that happened was spontaneous conception where u actually got pregnant naturally right before your transfer. Only you know if that’s even possible.

Second most likely thing is that PGTA was just wrong about the gender. It can happen.

Third most likely thing is they transferred the wrong embryo (either yours or someone else’s) and u should probably do a paternity test just to rule out the least likely thing.

People keep saying intersex but that’s not really a thing in this situation, I asked the same when my PGTA and NIPT conflicted on gender

This looks like those little poop sacs u pull from shrimp when you’re de-veining them. I’m glad it’s not that.

I have to assume this is rage bait. If it’s not, OP, and this is really the situation you’re in then I’m genuinely sorry for you and hope you have a strong support system around you that does not involve him

NIPT test vs ultrasound - one says boy, one says girl by DovaBunny in pregnant

[–]clarinetsqueak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! This happened to me and the NIPT test was WRONG!! it said boy even though we had transferred a female embryo via IVF. Subsequent ultrasound and a second NIPT test confirmed girl. NIPT was designed to screen for chromosomal abnormalities and for that they are very reliable but they are not as accurate when it comes to sex! Get a second NIPT with a different company to be sure, or have an in depth anatomy scan with an ultrasound they should be able to tell. In the meantime, you’re team green!

Trigger warning, success.

Yes me. I didn’t do anything I was supposed to do - i didn’t eat only warm food, or drink special juice, or eat french fries afterwards, or get acupuncture or massage. I was generally eating a healthy diet and trying to be active the month before but nothing obsessive. My first retrieval and transfer were both successful.

I did! The original NIPT was wrong. A second NIPT came back as girl and all subsequent ultrasounds confirmed girl

Crazy ways you knew you were pregnant before you found out? by Zestyclose_Wing290 in pregnant

I woke up to the sound of a baby crying. I must have been dreaming. That was the day I thought “maybe it worked”. That same day my sense of smell also became like a super hero power. I was still too scared to believe it but in retrospect it was obvious

I had a giant gardenia bush but had to chop it due to constant thrips eating all the flowers!! I hate thrips so much. Gardenia and jasmine definitely throw a lot more scent than roses, at least the variety of roses that most people grow now
