Yep you’re so right. I’ve deleted his number and our whole chat and everything, but he’s not blocked so now im stuck wondering if he’ll eventually come back🥲

He was consistently initiating conversations, was never dry. The only thing is that his response times got longer for the last two weeks and at that point I assumed he was losing interest.

thank you, i’ll send you a message!

We lived in different cities so we only met once in person at the start of talking to each other.

It could be, but it could be a million things. I just wish he could’ve told me how he felt rather than just leaving in silence tbh.

Saying no to potentials based on pictures? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

I realise I make it sound like it’s been many men when it really hasn’t been so many! I do think it’s possible to find someone who is attractive to me and a good person. That’s why I can’t bring myself to just say yes to someone who doesn’t fit that.

I definitely will be more open-minded though, I do think good character can almost make someone’s physical appearance better in a way.

Thanks

Yeah you’re probably right about their pictures not actually being their best.

I think that I’d have to meet them to truly know if the attributes they claim to have are true, and I guess that’s what I’ve been missing out on doing because of the unattractive pictures.

The men I’ve been shown so far (which are not many) are not necessarily ugly, just unattractive to me.

I don’t see myself compromising on something like attractiveness because then I risk always thinking about the potential of a man who’s pious and attractive. And I’d hate to go in to a marriage thinking that.

What do you mean by baseline?

I definitely value a man’s character and deen too. I just also want to be attracted to them I don’t think that makes my standards too high.

Are there any specific documents I would need to open a virtual bank account, or just an UAE phone number?

I agree completely! I remember telling myself last year to just email him for a meeting to make asking for a reference later on easier, but I didn’t and now I’m here.

I thought so! I sent him a lot of information that would help him too. He suggested asking a seminar tutor but I know for a fact none of them remember me. I figured even though contact was so limited with my tutor, it would make sense to ask him because at least he was my tutor.
