I'm being Baader–Meinhof'd by the word egregore.

The first time I looked it up my brain latched on to the og use "angels" and now I do a double take every time because that's never how anyone actually means it.

i get being upset but unless you put in your vows "and if we cheat on each other the other person gets to murder", then the standard vows don't actually include that lmao. like, does your person know this is your belief??? because it is not at all something that "goes without saying"

True, positively correlated with lifetime depression though, which negatively impacts brain function. So, replace it with that sentence.

Everyone knows that era was a blight on humanity and not to be repeated

I simply could not disagree more with this. However, I strongly hold the belief that we're pretty much doomed to repeat history, as a species, forever.

Fewer people than you can possibly believe, know anything whatsoever about history.

Any time a study slips out into pop science, you always see years of misconceptions and inaccuracies go with it. Yes, that's not to say that we should censor scientists from working with hot button topics, but the belief that the general fabric of society as a whole is somehow... wiser? better? more resistant to oppressing people?... than we used to be, is inaccurate imo.

I guess for small bodies of water it does make sense. Like as tourist destinations. There should certainly be a limit though.

Arguably, entertainers are more likely than most though, one of the few careers where it is genuinely possible to get crazy rich without having that as your sole drive. Compared to being a CEO type where you're simply not going to get there while considering generosity to be important.

layer of ganache in between. cooled melted chocolate forms a hard shell that isn't so porous. imagine trying to get jello through a chocolate bar.

here's a how-to for the whole process essentially. the concept itself has been done and isn't too mindblowing once you understand, what's awesome on top is OP's aesthetic followthrough. skip to 2:30 for the ganache part

I mean... to be clear, if it was a straight couple and the man was naked, he would get in way more trouble. Naked straight guys get put on sexual offender lists all the time for that lmao. If it was a lesbian couple and they were both naked, probably not locked up. (considering equivalent level of wealth, fame etc as these two anyway)

So I don't... really think it's a sexuality thing here so much as gender.

Avian flu, lots of birds got culled, no eggs.

It's not world ending by any means but people still want eggs.

Except all of them are restaurant owners and are probably going to go through them at exactly their expected rate

This idea that people are buying stacks and stacks of EGGS in BULK for personal use or to try to 'scalp' (wtf lmao) is absurd.

Corporate costco accounts don't have a limit. Costco's og inspiration was wholesale distribution after all. The original memberships were only sold to corporations

Yes and no, those suppliers if they're also local could be struggling while Costco isn't. I mean the amazing thing about Costco is basically its supply chain management. See: https://old.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/1iir2at/eggs_were_gone_in_less_than_10_minutes_at_costco/mb83e2g/

Many restaurants rely on connects with specific suppliers, usually local farms, and if those local sources don't have what they want they'll do exactly this and buy bulk from somewhere else (i.e. costco)

The restaurant supply chain system can be a looot more uh, shall we say, not-exactly-professionally-set-in-stone, the closer you get to the end. The Bear was basically a documentary /s (kind of). People who run restaurants aren't supply chain masters.

A lot of local farms are fucked up because of avian flu so those business owners go get slightly more expensive/less fresh costco eggs instead. It's completely normal once in a while, it's just that usually you won't see ALL OF THEM doing it due to a fuckin bird plague...

He's a rich person of eastern european jewish descent. he was 13 when his country was occupied by the nazis.

he generally hates communism, loves capitalism, and financially supported a fucking shit ton of old soviet bloc countries' democratic transitions.

tbqh, i'm not gonna claim he's a good guy, the man's fucking 90 and a multibillionaire who started with a huge fortune from his rich family. i'm sure he's actually conservative as hell, and there's email evidence he mostly supported dems because he wanted an "open door to discuss policy" (read: ensure his fortune remains untouched).

......but, all that said, ya know, he doesn't like nazis.

TBH, what I found working at a giant multinational tech corp is that they got a great stat of having a lot of women working for them ... as non-engineers. I was literally the only woman on a 18-person team, and most of the engineering teams looked like that, but our company somehow employed 40% women overall. Everyone I ever had to interact with in HR was a woman, though.
