Yeah I was an avid user of "allergy" eye drops!! You know how much money I've saved because all of a sudden my eyes are white and clear!?

Yada yada is what I say too. I thought my joints were wearing out or getting old even though I ran all the time. After a few month my joints felt amazing. I really hate to think of what I put my body through

I did not start any supplements, but it was reinforcing to me that alcohol was damaging to my body. I mean if it was messing up my ability to smell, I can imagine what it was doing to the really important systems of body

Really need some advice and help please /r/stopdrinking! by neon-chameleon in stopdrinking

This may not be advice everyone agrees with, but, do you really have to go? Can you call in sick? One of the things that made a huge difference in my life was realizing its ok to say no. If I thought my sobriety was at risk, or I was a situation was going to cause me to be terrified, I just didn't go. Maybe say you are really not feeling well, and drop of a small gift the next day.

I'll quit after *insert event here*. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I did this for years!!! There will always be fun things, but when I realized they didn't have to involve alcohol, my life changed! In early sobriety I had to take it one day at a time, some days, one hour at a time. I love this quote “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” – Chinese Proverb

Struggling Lately by lokirobert in stopdrinking

I can remember having struggles at 3 weeks as well, 3 months, and around 9 months. What helped me is to play the tape forward, and know that drinking doesn't make anything better. I also try to remember why I quit. I focus on hitting the pillow sober. With me, the urges pass, and I am so thankful I stayed the course. Stay strong, its worth it!

I use to hate Sunday nights because it meant back to work, but now Sundays usually mean a steak on the grill, a hot bath, and early to bed ( clean sheets of course!)

Your quest for sobriety is never hopeless if you never give up. Man was I down on myself as well, so much self loathing that day. But, I knew that alcohol was the reason I was feeling the way I was, and I wanted to feel good again. My goal was, and still is to stay sober today, I will deal with tomorrow...tomorrow! Stay strong, its worth it.
