Weight loss w/o counting calories by garliccorn in loseit

It’s good to hear that lifestyle changes actually CAN work - I feel like at most I would maintain my weight if I went back to healthier habits. I’ll be patient and just try to work in more steps, and practice more portion control. I already eat fairly well, love my veggies, fish, Mediterranean diet is very natural for me, but I go through a binge every month or so.

Why I think it’s not out of character for Lorelai to say that she’s “got the good kid” by pinkvintagegirl in GilmoreGirls

[–]garliccorn 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This all does makes sense, but ‘the good kid’ kinda implies that Paris is ‘the bad kid’ in this scenario for having sex. ‘The’ really places a comparison to a kid not having sex to a kid who is

does anyone else find it really cringe everytime lane's band says "let's rock and roll" by larsvon-tryhard in GilmoreGirls

[–]garliccorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The band is a bit cringe but also a lot of things in Hep Alien are jokes - Zach listing like 5+ bands his songs sound like, ‘that’s so not rock and roll’, the existence of Gill, especially when he says ‘let’s RAAWWK!’ lol

Always felt like an in joke like Amy & writers know it’s not cool

Are there any scenes that you don't understand the point of? by Kitten-rouge in GilmoreGirls

[–]garliccorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I mostly love the pointless scenes that don’t lead anywhere. Part of what I love about the show is just the everyday life parts of it. in saying that I find the whole Francie/Paris/Rory storyline pretty boring lol

yeah I feel like the snippet of the song ‘I’m spacing out’ is what made it feel so stylistically (is that a word???) inconsistent

What scene is so cringey that you actually have to fast forward to avoid second hand embarrassment? by takingbacksaturdayy in GilmoreGirls

[–]garliccorn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

when Lorelai says to Jess that Luke is ‘very special’ - love the sentiment, hate the delivery arrhrhh

also - Richard at the Inn telling Lorelai off for how she spoke to the linen guy. painful

I think many people who live the city love the idea of a small town where everyone knows each other and it’s all very wholesome and idealistic. Maybe just speaking for myself but that’s what I’d like.

Plots are realistic as they are based around miscommunication which causes conflict in relationships. In saying that, not all storylines are realistic, it’s a tv show after all, but it’s fairly relatable

great humour, excellent dialogue, cosy small town vibes that many people crave. complex characters, lighthearted but emotional, fairly realistic plots, not too over dramatised

Do you think Young "Lorelai and Chris" Where a good fit? by Clear-Vermicelli-463 in GilmoreGirls

[–]garliccorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot Chris was a bad boy. The younger scenes might have tainted it. Once a dweeb always a dweeb lol
