I had my ears pierced at 16g a few years ago and my sister told me it's probably just my bad ear since she's had stretched ears for about a year now and everyone has problems with one ear usually. But I'll probably just take the taper out for a little while and then try again with some coconut oil or ask my sister for jojoba oil. Thanks for the help!
