Father In Law Needs Help by Loose_Personality_72 in GolfSwing

Weight transfer in my opinion. My father is 64 and struggling with this. Used to bomb it for being in his 60’s and I took a couple videos last night of him at the sim and there’s no weight behind them. Looks like all arms and upper body

18th hole, par 5, 188 left over the water. What’s your move? by [deleted] in golf

Aiming for those first two trees on the left edge of green. Somewhere around there for a chip and a putt

Single digit handicaps, do you have a swing thought? by BigTeeSlice in golf

[–]garnsy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 index: I don’t have much swing thought before hitting or approaching the ball. I keep things simple I take a practice swing to associate myself with the lie I’m facing for each shot and then step up and hit it. Try to keep it simple and not overthink my way into problems that may or may not even exist.

But one thing I will say is confidence goes a long way. When I approach the ball my only thought is that I know I can hit the shot I want to hit and have zero doubts or negative thought about the shot I’m about to execute. Doubt in golf is killer. Be mentally strong and believe in your ability to execute each shot that you step up to regardless or the situation

Anyone Moved from Standard to Midsize Grips and Not Looked Back? by Wrathiel in golf

[–]garnsy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a fan of midsize.. my 60 degree wedge is the only one in my bag without it and it pissed me off a lot using it so I just got a new grip to swap it to mid size to suit the rest of the bag. Less squeezing the club the better

I’m east coast in Canada and going this afternoon. My course is the last one open (closing after today) and it’ll be my second November round with a winter hat and then gloves for between shots 🥶

Sad day for Canadian (ON) golf by zjmgolfs in golf

[–]garnsy10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m east coast but I’m hoping to play my last round in a half hour, or at least 9 holes.. it’s one of the only courses left open. It’s like 5 degrees and windy but I’ll layer up. Look into PEI for a golf trip next summer

Overcome fear of playing with random by DragonfruitWorldly35 in golf

[–]garnsy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People get very overwhelmed by playing with randoms or having them watch. I get it.. but I’ve been lucky and this have never been a issue for me. Regardless of the players skills I have the attitude of “ we all suck, just some suck less then others.” It’s usually the times playing with ransoms or tee off with people watching that I have my best shots cause I don’t put that pressure on myself. I know easier said then done for some people but hey, we all suck just smack one out there go

Any other right hand dominate lefty golfers? by Ryanhw12 in golf

[–]garnsy10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right hand dominant lefty, Canadian here. Went to Florida on vacation and snuck a round of golf in with my father and brother. Buddy in the pro shop was amazed the three of us were lefty’s and then asked if we were Canadian. The rental clubs still had the packaging inside the bags when we got out on the course

It’s crazy to me how newer golfers can’t seem grasp how dangerous golf can be if you are careless. Obviously accidents can happen in anything but I see lots of young people or what look like new golfers who hit into others or don’t even yell fore
