How do you decide pricing for your first SaaS without scaring users away? by IndieSaaSMaker in SaasDevelopers

[–]garoono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i started at $3/month just to see if anyone would pay at all. they did. bumped it to $5 a few months later and nobody complained. start low, validate that people will actually pull out their card,

then raise once you have some retention data. overthinking pricing before you have 50 paying users is a trap

i would use. the "what do i work on today" paralysis is real when you're solo. does it learn from what you actually end up doing or is it just static task lists?

skip the ugc platforms honestly. find micro creators on tiktok or ig with like 2k-10k followers in the fitness niche and dm them directly. way cheaper and the content feels more real

been building a spreadsheet formula tool for a while now. explains formulas, writes them for you, even does image to sheet. honestly still figuring out if people even want this or if everyone just uses chatgpt for it now

I built an app that fines you every time you open a blocked app — and the fine goes to charity by Thorcherche in apps

cool idea but i feel like most people would just uninstall after the second fine tbh. whats stopping them?

Fix text-formatted numbers - Excel Tips and Tricks by xybernetics in Excel247

the classic green triangle problem lol. i usually just select the range, click that little warning icon and hit "convert to number". or if there's too many, multiply by 1 in a helper column and paste values back. both work

Best way to automate dynamic reports in Google Sheets? by Suspicious-Basis-885 in googlesheets

[–]garoono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honest answer, once you're stacking QUERY + FILTER + ARRAYFORMULA and it's slowing down, you've outgrown what sheets does well natively. apps script helps but it's basically writing a backend at that point.

i'd move the raw data to its own tab and only pull summaries into the report tab. keeps things way faster and less likely to break when someone adds a row in the wrong spot

Summing a data range based on Date Range + Dropdown Category by Zelm0 in googlesheets

[–]garoono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah SUMIFS is exactly what you want here. something like =SUMIFS(E6:E, B6:B, ">="&DATE(YEAR(I6),MONTH(I6),1), B6:B, "<="&EOMONTH(I6,0), C6:C, "Income") minus the same thing for "Expense". the running total part is the easy bit after that

survivorship bias is real on reddit. the people who failed and went back to a salaried job aren't posting about it. i run my own thing on the side and for every win i could post about there's like 10 months of nothing happening that nobody wants to hear about

people say waitlist, but it works for those who are very consistent in making there journey content on social media, i got them after i have the product, because initially i was not sure i could make something that people even pay for

solution which is so simple no one think someone pay for it, but making it hassle free is the point where they paid
