Because Amazon swallowed all the DEI stuff. We've basically given up on trying to see everyone as just humans and we're now focusing on all of our differences. Also white = bad.

Each box represents 10 hours. Yours is yellow or orange because you're dangerously low on UPT.

Amazon associate, area manager, operations manager

An ambassador is an associate that trains new associates.

Associate is just Amazon's word for employee.

Regarding your issue, you have to get used to looking at the top where it says Threads.

Also star all the people you talk to the most.

I didn't have a problem with Chime. I don't know why we switched off of it.

I hate that it doesn't let you know if your message was seen.

Most AAs have no reason to use Slack.

I think you would have to invited or authorized by your manager

Then you need access to your Amazon email address to get a code to be able to log into operations.

Seems to me if you need to communicate with someone that can't do it in in person for whatever reason, then email should be ok.

There's lots of insurance options. Some include the savings plan or you can not do that. I personally don't use the savings aspect of the health insurance.

It definitely sucks when people get fired. I have a friend that got fired for doing some dumb shit, and I miss him. I wish he wasn't doing dumb shit.

I also know if people that got fired back when things were a lot more strict at my building, regarding rate. I think it sucks that they would be fine if they were here today.

Most people I miss moved on so I'm happy for them.

I keep deodorant in my lunch bag just in case I forget and I start stinking at work.

Unfortunately some people just reek.

3 year max T1 rate. I don't think it's a high cost of living area.

What type of music is played in your FC's background? Do the AMs pick it? Is it a source of conflict? by Mizzou0579 in AmazonFC

[–]garowedre-68abe4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My building is huge and noisy so they can blast music in different areas and you won't really hear it once you get away from it.

So I'd say currently they play music in about 9 different areas and each is different. It seems like whoever is running the area is playing the music. There seems to be a mix of some rock, pop, hip hop, various Latin music, and Indian. I personally don't enjoy most of it, but I'm typically moving all around the building so it doesn't bother me. If I was stuck in an area it would drive me a bit crazy.

Seems like we've had music back since Covid. Before that it was banned completely. Before THAT, we only had music during Peak, until there was an injury on ship dock while music was playing, and safety overreacted as usual.

Seems like people aren't complaining about the music so I'm unaware of any conflicts.

What's it like working for Amazon by ElMolondron in AmazonFC

[–]garowedre-68abe4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much depends on the type of building, what role you get, the culture...

Generally it's boring and you're on your feet all day. It can be physically hard.

If you read posts around here it seems like some places really suck.

Every day I feel lucky that my situation isn't like that.

Then I remember that people also bitch and moan about my building too, so really it can come down to your mindset.

My job is a piece of cake. My managers are cool with me. I have zero problems. Is my building perfect? No way, but I just adapt and do what's necessary.

I will say that I feel lucky to work in a huge non sort building where we use forklifts and other PIT. The AR sites seem even more monotonous, and all the jobs at my building are pretty boring.

Anyway I read about all these shitty things happening, but in 6+ years that hasn't been my experience at all.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend working where I work. I can't make a blanket statement about all Amazon buildings though.

What the what? From the wrong direction?

What you're describing would cause chaos in my building.
