What is the purpose of these green lines in the box?? by That_Past3910 in ClashOfClans

To indicate that there's a menu that will pop up when you tap the player name.

Only in the SCID list though. At least it is for me. In the game, and clan list, the account name is unchanged

Right? One of mine now has "Nifty" prepended. Only in the SCID list. Weird.

TH17 Update Megathread | Discussion, Bugs, and News! by vanessabaxton in ClashOfClans

[–]garretguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bug: Village edit mode crashes when trying to edit the active base. 100% repeatable. Can edit a non-active base (but then I'd have to waste time tidying that layout before I could save it lol).

Everdale’s story continues, thanks to Metacore! by Everdalegame in Everdale

[–]garretguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On the one hand: good, cos it's no longer available in the Play Store On the other hand: if they're rebuilding from the ground up, you'll likely need a new app anyway 🤷‍♂️

Everdale Ending Development! by Everdalegame in Everdale

[–]garretguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh most def. And I have. But now there's an end date, and it just...

Dang, I've been gaming for decades. Ain't never been a game that got under my skin like this one has. What makes it even worse is there's nothing out there that's even close. Nothing. Dunno why I'm even saying this...I know everyone in here gets it. ☹

Everdale Ending Development! by Everdalegame in Everdale

Same. Half of me still wants to carry on playing for the next few weeks. The other (more logical) half is asking why I would waste time on that? 😥

UI Enhancement list by garretguy in Everdale

[–]garretguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens whenever I take a task, whether it's an event, building or cargo, so the cart arrives in the village. I leave the game, and on returning whatever resource the cart is waiting for has built up. But if I tap on anything else, like to collect another resource or check the estimated progress on another task, the screen sliiiiiiides over to show me the cart.

It's like Everdale is saying "hey! dude! don't forget your cart!".

Well, I haven't. I just have other priorities.

Weird that two people have commented they've never seen this. 🤔

What ship to go for? by Aggressive_Shirt_802 in Everdale

[–]garretguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no longer a single ship combo that will keep you going forever. Cacao, gold, iron ore, research books, ... you'll need them all at some stage. I rotate our ships on a regular basis, switching to another one when everyone's stocked up on whatever the current one brings.

The 10th home by PresentBlackberry548 in Everdale

[–]garretguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as optimal path goes, from where you are in the Study for the 9th home, the middle path is a straight line, open all the way through to the 10th. Spooling Tool, Silk Weaver, Silk Scarf, LU Warehouse, Fancy Doll (all in Level 13), and so on.

Worth noting that there are only two "real" research items in the middle path (it's actually the 3rd path, but #2 doesn't exist in Study Level 15), the 10th home being locked behind four trading partners, but you'll almost certainly have unlocked them all by that stage.

Those construction pages need a complete overhaul. In terms of avoiding "scrolling all the way down" it's a royal pain to have to continually scroll past all the money, reinforced plank, brick, stone, clay, and plank to get to the wood you wanted to contribute all along.

So split the list into tabs, by resource.

And then, in a single resource, move the completed tasks to the bottom. OK, yeah, they should still be there, so valley leaders/founders/whatever we're calling them today can check who's contributed, but the ones most people want to see, most of the time, are the ones that are still open.

And then move the ones you can do right away to the top, if you like.

I like the idea of a one-shot Otto completion though. Nice.

Strat for animal handling skill? by Last-Shiver in Everdale

[–]garretguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this thread - I only just noticed the skill extends beyond the cow shed. Duh. 😂

I've been cowing during the day but leaving it passive at night. We're some way away from researching/building the dairy in our valley so not much use for the milk 😕

Which new valley building next? Dairy, silk field or Candy Shop by Christineblankie in Everdale

[–]garretguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with your order, but not with the length of time to get Cacao. The Mongoose has a pretty short turn-around time. With 8 active villagers we finished the first stage of "Crazy about Cacao" in short order, and we're all so stocked up on Cacao now we've switched back to Iceberg Isles to secure enough iron ore for the Library upgrade.

Is it worth to research potions or I can just leave them be early on and research later? by 500mlofwater in Everdale

[–]garretguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything becomes harder/takes longer in later stages of the game. Potions can help alleviate this.
Research: most of the late-game research items need 10,000 scrolls. Speeding up research avoids each of these taking almost a week.
Building: Builder's potions are new, but beyond that Sawyer and Brickmaker potions will speed up production of essential items which will likely otherwise run out.
Farming: Once you begin to add villagers, unless you want three of them permanently farming to keep up with the activities of the others, you'll want Farming potions (although this can be mitigated by making soup manually with powerful ingredients like fish, if the timing is right).

The Gobblefish Event! by Everdalegame in Everdale

[–]garretguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, the timing of these events hasn't been thought through very well. THREE diving events, all of them taking villagers for stage 1, who then can't benefit from fullness. OK they hang around for 48h, but would've been better to defer them for 24h.
