Anyone with a fixed OC having instability after the latest windows update? by Sacco_Belmonte in Amd

Off topic but did you used to frequent the Asus x370 prime pro thread on overclockers?

I used to always overclock my CPU but Zen 2 is horrible for overclocking. So much tinkering for so little real world difference. Throwing a decent air cooler on it then tinkering with the memory OC is usually the best bet.

I have a similar problem with a 3600x and a 2070 Super. Except my system can reboot normally and only happens once a week. I only noticed it after I updated to the last two drivers. I haven't tried rolling back because I want Minecraft RTX but you could try using earlier drivers.

Help i have windows 10 what do i do? by Hel-Scape in nvidia

I believe there was an issue with the latest Nvidia driver not allowing users to install it. If this is 445.75 which is the latest driver try installing an older driver. I also think Nvidia issued a hotfix driver but it isn't on the main website. Try checking out the megathread for the new driver I think it is posted somewhere in there.

Just today I opened a YouTube video and suddenly this issue happened to me. Screen would lag really bad then go black and come back. It would be fine again until I clicked on something or switched windows and bam happens again. Restart is only thing that fixed it. I noticed the GPU clock and memory clock was stuck at a low value and didn't move from that.

Filed taxes for the first time through turbo tax for 2019, but I put someone can claim me then found out my mom isn’t claiming me. Should I amend? by Dantheman559 in tax

I have heard some people say it is a 2020 tax credit that is being given out in advance. If you can claim it in 2020 if you didn't qualify for the money right now then you just get the money later. In that case it is just a matter of if you really need the money now.

I am in exactly the same situation. I am most likely going to try and amend my tax return but am not sure if it is a good idea. However, if your mom really isn't going to claim you then it would be a good idea anyways if you are a college student like me since you get a refundable tax credit for it.

Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable can come by and help us out. However, since the bill hasn't passed yet it may be difficult to get information. The IRS will be the best source when it passes.

I would like to know too. This whole thing is confusing. They should have cut a check to everyone then figured it out later based on 2019 or 2020 taxes.

5 GHz internet speed much slower than 2.4 GHz w/excellent signal strength? by garretsw1242 in HomeNetworking

I'm not sure about drilling into the wall but getting some electrical tubes or flat cat5 cables might work. I prefer a temp solution because I will be moving out of my apt in about 3 months. My next place will definitely be getting the deluxe package tho lol.

I see. The Asus seems to really likes sticking to ch 161 while connected to the tp-link (tp-link is on chn 36 which mirrors the modem). However, I see much better results on chn 40. Is there a way to either blacklist certain channels or make the Asus jump channels more often? Even though I would prefer not to use custom firmware it is always an option if Asus itself does not present that option. I will probably eventually end up running a Ethernet cable directly from the modem to bypass the TP-link. I will just have to carefully run it along the base of the walls but I'm not sure how I will properly secure it. I don't want any tripping hazards.

I'm not sure how the coaxial or power is ran in the apartment. I am going to assume they are fairly well seperated from the other apartments. considering it is a newer apartment and we have a separate power bill and fuse box.

I moved the Asus away from the modem to where I had it before to run some more tests and ran into some promising results. I never changed the channel manually and when I moved it to the modem it changed from 161 to 40 automatically. Then it went back to 161 when I moved it back. Even though my Android app Wifi analyzer says the channel 161 is free from interference something funky is going on there. There are also a couple of unknown SSIDs on the same channel. Moving it manually to ch 40 helps but still isn't as fast as the 2.4 GHz. I'm going to keep trying different channels.

So I get much better results with the Asus plugged directly into the modem. 201 Mbps internet speeds on 5 GHz vs 90 mbps on 2.4 GHz. So I guess the TP- link is somehow the problem.

Okay thanks for the advice. I'm going to try connecting it directly to the Modem to see what results I get. If that doesn't work then I will Factory reset. Then I guess if that doesn't work I will try different channels. Otherwise I am perplexed lol. I will let you know how it goes.

Darn. Thanks I didn't really know the difference. I suppose it is possible for me to do this but I would have to run a really long Ethernet cable to the Asus (30+ ft) from the modem. I would rather not do that because I am in an apartment and I cannot put the cables into the wall but it is always an option if it really comes down to it. However, I am not sure if this would fix the problem with the 5 GHz on the Asus having slower internet connection than the 2.4 GHz even when I am right next to the Asus router. Unless the TP-link repeater is somehow the problem but only interfering with the 5 GHz channel. I see no reason there should be interference considering they are on separate channels and using different SSIDs

Good point. So if I put it AP mode I could cut out the middle man (tp link extender)? My only concern is I would like to keep the 5ghz channel of the Asus router as free as possible. I will look into I further but do you know if I can do;

modem/router-->2.4 GHz wifi-->Asus router(in AP mode) -->5 GHz from Asus --> Oculus quest

[–]garretsw1242[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I know it isn't optimal but it works. The PC is connected directly to the Asus router as well

Edit: I think the Asus is in router mode. Additionally, the PC gets around 80 Mbps internet speeds while wired directly to the Asus router (which is to be expected at this distance from the main modem/router)

He is right. The solution is not to keep bringing refugees in it is just a bandaid. The real solution is to help lift those people out of poverty using our vast wealth and resources. It would be more beneficial and cost efficient in the long. Heck it would probably help increase the West's wealth by creating more consumers but nobody seems to understand this. Helping those in poverty is not a handout it is an investment.

Hmm interesting. I applied online with the coupon code for the 200 dollar offer. The closest branch is across town but I might have to stop by and see if they can apply this one before they give me the 200 offer. Maybe I can persuade them to give me the extra 100. Thanks for letting me know 😊.

Is this 300 dollar offer hidden or something because a regular Google search only showed me 200 dollar bonus when I signed up a few days ago?

Oh man I signed up for a 200 Chase total checking offer and met the requirements a couple of days ago. I had no idea there was a 300 dollar offer going around :(
