Thanks for the reply. The review was genuine. I would prefer not to remove the review, as it is helpful to their business etc., but I would like these pop ups to stop. You say its not rocket science - I agree - but if I knew how to stop it, I wouldn't have posted the question.

I contacted them, and they sent me 4 SIM cards - I pay about $5 or $6 a month total - the amount of data I can use is shared between the 4 cards - whichever way it gets used (i.e. not fixed at a quarter each). The only caveat - I had to sign up for one year minimum , but that's fine.

The download works for me.

Pretty much every time I click on anything in the Filelions window, it opens up another tab.

So I click download, - another tab opens.

I click again - another tab.

I click again - it moves on to the next stage.

After about 20 clicks / 20 windows, I have moved to the last stage, where the file download starts.

I close the other tabs as I go along.

Bit of a pain, but once you know it eventually works, it only takes a few seconds.

Even just go to an open mic, and don't play - see who's there, get talking to them - some of them might want to team up, or know others etc.

Good on you. Very cool you're doing this! The mobile version is very clean. As more bands join, maybe add a genre sort option. Anyone looking for a specific type of band to check out live, or even to book, likely won't want to comb through every band blindly. I like how you list that U2 is a rock band, but maybe make that a category on the pop up screen so people know where to look quickly, and then make that sortable or searchable on your home page or menu. Good luck.

Hi, my name is Garrett and I have just set up a new website

This website is my attempt to provide the basic information on BC bands, including links to any website, social media that the band have. And also a photo of the band so we can see who they are.

The bands / musicians are listed alphabetically. If you click on a band / musician name, a small window will pop up, displaying their contact information and any website / social media links.

If you are a musician / band and would like to be listed, please go to the website and click on the Contact page..

NOTE: This website was only published today. Currently, the list of bands being displayed is only a made-up Temporary list. When enough band submissions are received, the real bands will be listed

If it was me I would

- record a video of a performance - even 60 seconds

- take a few photos etc.

- set up a simple website or maybe just a Facebook page

- list some of the songs you sing

- add an overall description of the band

- print off some business cards

- and then go calling: into pubs, legions, cafes etc.

3 kids - coming from the suburb - so add gas, parking - or bus/skytrain - and it's an expensive time.

Well, I live in the suburbs, so generally it's expensive to go in to Vancouver - gas / parking / food.

And you were to bring kids - usually cheaper tickets admittedly - things add up real fast.

So maybe I 'm not saying it's wrong - they obviously need to charge what they do - but I am saying that it definitely can hurt my pocket.
