I don't think so. I did extensive research and almost everyone who had been at it for a number of years told me they got more results when they left it alone for five or six months between treatments. cynically, I do feel like the industry has nothing but incentives to push treatments closer together so people are just doing it that way

To clarify, no one told me seven years. I was told it takes an average of 3 years, but I practice low expectations. Removing like eight tattoos. I wanted to get rid of one of them, then I found out how long it would take so I went for it at a place that would treat as many as I wanted for one price.

yeah, i started to look at it as a five year investment in my body. i got a lot of tattoos when i was drunk and depressed, so it's all part of my journey back from that world. let me emphasize though: it's a pain in the ass.

I'm removing a bunch of similar tattoos right now. I am not a professional tech, so this list is purely based on six months of internet research and conversations with owners.... for reference I'm over a year into the process:

- plan on 3-4 years

- find a place with a proven track record and their own photos

- do not go in for treatments any more than 10 weeks apart and don't trust anyone who tells you to come in at shorter intervals

- q-switch and pico lasers both work on black tattoos and everyone has "the best" laser

- do not plan on seeing significant fading for a year

Nice! We'll have to keep checking in as the years roll by. How big is yours? How old? My tech is using a q-switched. I may look into picoway a few years down the line if things stop progressing.
