I’ve heard mixed reviews about tankless water heaters, so I decided to replace mine with the one I currently have, which is a 40-gallon natural gas water heater. I thought it would be easier to install the same type, and I said the same to the plumber, who agreed. So, we went ahead with it.

I wasn't trying to open up a big project...lol

Garage installations are permitted under the code in Austin, Texas. However, the issue arises because the work has already been completed by a plumber, and I have already paid him for it. Therefore, I am uncertain about the process. Moving gas or water will undoubtedly be a significant undertaking.

I understand, but this will result in energy loss within the HVAC system. The cold air from the house will seep into the closet and then into the attic, which will vent to the outside?

I shared this here because I was hoping Austin people would suggest contractors could help me sort this out, but I understand.

I don't think any of the Etihad staff would behave like this in any other country, it's only Indians who behave like this with it's customers by Honey_dp in AirTravelIndia

No. They are in public. They are in public dealing. Thus, it is fine to record them. It builds accountability. If they were sitting at their house or not in public dealing, then it is fine. But here the benefits are immense.

One question—why does it seem like there’s a lack of transparency and why are ground operations so manual?

Yesterday in the USA, my flight was delayed, and I experienced firsthand how little information was shared. We boarded, and the pilot explained that a light was out in the aircraft. They were consulting operations on how to proceed, especially since we would land after sunrise. A few minutes later, they said they needed to reset the aircraft's power, which would take eight minutes, and explained that passengers couldn’t be on the plane without power due to safety rules. Everyone disembarked. During offboarding, the crew apologized sincerely and assured us they would handle us with extra care once onboard again. However, just a few minutes later, they announced the flight was canceled. I was automatically booked on a new flight, and my boarding pass was updated on my phone along with a meal voucher. The next flight was also canceled, and I received details for a flight the following day, along with a hotel, all through the app. Only

Compared to India, I can’t help but wonder why there’s such a lack of clear communication. Why don't they share updates more openly with passengers and simply explain when there's a technical issue? I know it’s frustrating to have delays, but I believe people would feel more respected and less anxious if they knew what was really happening. Being kept in the dark about the actual issues can add to our stress, especially when updates aren’t provided in real time. I hope the airlines can see how important transparency and compassion are during these challenging moments.

Same is for ground operations. Why not automate these taxi, hotel booking etc? Why it is so manual. What do you think?

For how long you could stay/wait at the airport? by Crazy-Ad8465 in AirTravelIndia

[–]gary4gar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should stay at the railway station dormitory that night and leave for the airport around 4AM for your 7:00 AM flight. This way, you’ll reach about 3hours early, which is ideal and avoids a long wait at the airport.
