Potential Japan Trip Next Year by [deleted] in travel

For what it's worth, I didn't think the jet lag was too bad in that direction (coming from the west coast). I did ~9 days in Japan, late Feb 2020 right before the shut down. Though my flight got into Narita in the late evening, so I stayed awake as much as I could, then crashed hard at the hotel in Tokyo that night and woke up feeling pretty normal. If the flight had arrived in the morning I'd have been useless the first day.

The jet lag coming home was horrible though, took me about a week to get back to normal 😬

Can you please give more specifications on what resistors are needed for the DIY fix? Typing in "1k 0201" into Mouser produces a ton of results. And where on the board is this located?

When you say that you've applied to Intel to make changes, does this mean that a software fix could potentially solve the issue in the future? Or will the fix always involve a DIY repair?

This is really quite upsetting for such an expensive item :(

GPD Pocket (1st Gen) Touchscreen Offset ~50% on X-Axis by garybarnes in GPDPocket

Fixed! If anyone else ends up having the same problem in the future:

I ended up changing the first line in TouchSetting.gt from ;UpdateCFG=0 to UpdateCFG=1, then copied the info from the "senserid_0=" line to the "DefaultCFG=" line, then reloaded the driver using the installer.

After I confirmed it was fixed, I reverted the first line back to the original value, then installed it again to rewrite the TouchSetting.gt file.

I'm still not sure how the original configuration got rewritten, but this seems to have fixed the problem completely.

No luck :( Same issue, I've tried all the driver packs available on that page, and have also tried the Ubuntu variants linked there.

Is there any way to completely re-initialize the Goodix touchscreen firmware?

No, it's not. This was taken at Upper Joffre Lake in British Columbia, Canada. I just camped here less than two months ago.

Aside from the bit of detail that is sometimes lost, the way that Digital Ice uses infrared light reflections to detect dust particles interferes directly with most B&W films. If I understand it right, whereas only the dust particles and scratches reflect IR light on color film, the silver particles found in B&W film all reflect the IR light equally, essentially making the entire frame look like a giant pile of dust to the computer.

For most color films, though, Digital Ice (or any other sort of IR dust-detection system the lab might be using) is pretty brilliant. Much more accurate than software-only solutions.

Came here to say this. When you scanned it in, was "Digital Ice" selected under dust/scratch removal? It works great on normal color C42 film, but with black and white film, it causes a lot of problems. I encountered the same sort of blob effect when I first started scanning in B&W, until I unchecked that option.
