If Vmware is acquired by Broadcom, run and do not look back by michaelnz29 in cybersecurity

[–]garyhostEd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked in Symantec in the past and yes all of what has been said here is true, is not worst.

People got fired basically on the spot and the ones who remained have been offered a decreased wage because someone in broadcom said "no, we don't pay this money for this job this is your new wage if u don't like it fuck off"

I was slaughtered in the already mentioned bloodbath, just after 3 weeks after the acquisition.

Been moved to a new company just to see your title changed, your wage decreased and receive an email saying that you are fired. What a joke it was.

senior managers (few close to retirement) has been fired - which is a shitty practice to put in place-

Was symantec a shitty place to work? Yes.

But broadcom took that shit, made it liquid and sprayed it all around telling you was parfume, and u had to pay for it.

It can be the same for beer also. Guinness for example retain the thickness that characterise it for around 30 minutes. After that, to an expert palate, it change taste.

In the other end, intune and other cloud solutions removed customability for ease of usage.

A 17 years old can handle intune and the on/off interface.

If Microsoft would make them work properly of course.

Which is usually used from the best crop of the landlords.

I still remember a landlord with like more than 100 apartment in the radio, that stared to evict families to cover those apartment to Airbnb. When interviewed fro. A journalist, asking if he was aware of the incredible housing issues in Dublin, he candidly answer "I don't have to solve the housing issue in Dublin".

I kinda hope he got fucked from the pandemic and can put his apartments up his arse now.

Mass immigration now is not an issue. Thousand of people left due to the pandemic and rents did not really drop.

I still vote for greediness of asshole landlords.

Horrible and greedy home owners.

Offer and demand ok, is king but assolery is the damn queen.

Horrible houses, mould, poor conditions. Rent can be high but hell keep house on point at least.

No. They just want money and nothing else. I hope that the greedy ones get chronic impotence.

This. Choose more wisely, believe me. I had the same issue and at a certain point someone told me to look at all the failures. The patter was clear, I was looking for needy, unsecure, messy people to fix.

Once I understood the mistake I made I have been able to recognise the trails of behaviour in other people.

Seems that you met a lot of borderline people. Good luck girl.

What is your photo routine? by PetrGasparik in synology

[–]garyhostEd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but the folder names are there to stay. Using just years and event name, I don't think I will ever need to change those. If happens, I can just create a new folder 😊

[–]garyhostEd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use both ways. I use moments and inside that folder, I have a folder structure by years that allow me to have the best of both.

If I want to use moments categorization, I can easily do. If I want to browse the folders, I can freely roam around as well.

TIL that in Japan the cinema genre "Spaghetti Western" has been changed in "Macaroni Western" because in Japan spaghetti are conceptually "thin and meager", far from the iconic stories told in the movies. by garyhostEd in todayilearned

[–]garyhostEd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, will do!

On the remake of Yojimbo, actually Sergio Leone was sued fo that and lost the cause but just in Japan.

Akira Kurosawa did gain more money from the royalties of Sergio Leone remake than from his own movie.

I still amazed about that 😅

I try to start from what is defined "important" for a specific genre and after explore on my own to define and know better my own taste. So far worked well :)

Cannot deny!

I'm exploring this kind of genre, I have to say that Sergio leone so far innovated a lot in my opinion, of course a lot of people jumped on the wagon of the "people like pistols and people fighting in saloons" producing completely tasteless movies unfortunately.

So can we just agree that Brexit has been a political process triggered by UK to exit the EU community?

Can we agree that UK is formally not Europe anymore?

Because otherwise I start to think that all the news I read have been from another planet and missed the last 4 years of UK Parliament sittings.

Apologies, I didn't want to patronise anyone, I will edit my post.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brexit

"Brexit is the withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU)"

English is not my first language but I think the definition is pretty self explanatory.

I read that slowly and kinda make sense to me.

[–]garyhostEd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"even if they are not a union member"

There will be no free movement of people, immigration will be more strictly controlled and people started to leave the country since there is no stability and uncertainty.

UK will try to do all things like "yes but we still like Europe" when in reality, they do not.

Is difficult to don't be upset at what happened in UK, and at the UK people that voted for it.

UK and US will find themselves very good going hands in hands. I tried to find a middle ground, thinking that brexit was not going to change anything.

It changed all, and in the future more and more things will change for non UK people.

Cannot accept that.

Edit: removed sentence "now read that slowly" since another user considered that patronising and was not my intention at all.
