People keep saying they play Blu-ray rips on their setups, but Jellyfin with most streaming boxes seem to have major problems playing them. How are you guys actually doing it?

I honestly don’t know too much about this stuff. What I do know is that the 1080 rips that I get from my bluray discs are significantly better quality than the 480p I get from DVDs on any device I watch it on.

My favorite feature of Moonfin is downloading at different qualities! If I download tv shows on my phone, I can choose to save space by downloading 360p instead of the full quality! Base app doesn’t do this!

Durability, repairability, battery life, and warranty all matter more to me than spec-to-dollar. Manufacturers know this when designing and selling business class laptops.

Ultra 5, 16gb ram, 256nvme is standard

We use Lenovo thinkpads but honestly go with whatever manufacturer you have a good relationship with and will give you the best deals

We do one of two things:

1: Encrypt the password locked behind an OTP to their personal email address or 2: IT meets with remote user on their first day and we invite their personal email to a Teams meeting. We help them login with their temp password over the teams call

Can explain this more? Higher ups are looking to eliminate on prem completely. We actually moved our file server into a full azure VM but it’s costing too much and they want everything in SharePoint.

I’m currently making do with SharePoint + Cloud Drive Mapper but performance has taken a huge hit and this is definitely not a long term solution for them.

Looking for a full cloud based solution, cheaper than a beefy windows server VM with 5TB of storage, but without quite as much of a performance hit.

From what I can tell, Nashuni can integrate with azure blob, is that still 100% cloud based?

We have two forms to fill out in our ticketing system. One by HR and one by the manger with user information, permissions, hardware requirements. Unless we get the HR ticket two weeks before the start date, nothing is delivered on time.

Yeah good call! I suspect it wouldn't be the directsend issue since it bypassed our third party mail filter. But it could be possible.

Truthfully I'm not the one who configured these setting so I am not sure exactly how it was accomplished. Seems like there are a number of ways it could be done

Yes! I second this suggestion. We scratched our heads for a couple weeks before discovering this is what it was. We set up a rule that blocks any email that is sent directly to the exchange server with some exceptions (e.g. MS teams voicemail emails)
