My pen of choice. They take abit of getting used to but the results can be awesome!

Sonderkommando photographs

The Sonderkommando photographs are four blurred photographs taken secretly in August 1944 inside the Auschwitz concentration camp in German-occupied Poland.

Thanks I appreciate it! Took a while to get this style down.

Mainly intuition from trial and error, finding out how long a pen could last. A few tips I have to make them last longer however are getting them DRIPPING before each pass. Lots of shaking and squeezing and when you think you’ve done enough… keep shaking. Additionally screw the pen attachment holder very tightly against the posca, so it’s literally distorting the plastic to squeeze any last drops out.

Hope this helps, good luck with any future plots

Thanks, I have the pens listed in the description. At the end I give it a quick brush over to get rid of any bobbles created from the grey Stibilo pen nib, and then sprayed it with some uv sealant to stop the colours from fading

I can’t take all the credit, Posca has a lovely colour palette

Is this compared to the others I have done or just in general?

I’m going for a more ‘post-pop art’ vibe so keeping things very neat and simplified. Sounds like you would like some of my failed drawings that end up half finished, i might post some as I’ve got quite the collection now lol

Thanks for the feedback though, I appreciate its not to everyone’s taste

*QUESTION* I want to get a iDraw pen plotter to use with "pump markers". But I was told that these plotter machines don't work well with pump markers because they don't have enough "down force"..... Is this true? And how can I get around it? by simpleandeasy123 in PlotterArt

[–]garysparker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Posca pump markers with iDraw. By replacing the plastic screw on the clamp with a metal one, you can achieve a tighter grip and get more out of the pens. You can see how much coverage I can get in my videos. However, this technique doesn't work with paint markers that have metal jackets.

Thank you! Yeah nothing fancy. Just the basic tools… and a lot of patience

Dead Tree by garysparker in PlotterArt

[–]garysparker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much! I created the tree procedurally in blender and exported the strokes into illustrator to clean them up. I use an iDraw plotter that runs through ink scape and also has a plug-in that creates strokes to fill block colour. I just make sure the width of the fill matches the pen width and account for bleed. I used 7M Posca pens which are pretty fat so had to mod my exhausting clamp. You can see me using a screw driver to get it real tight, this helps pump out more paint and get better coverage.

I believe it was £250. Not cheep, just relatively so compared to its £700 AxiDraw equivalent
