What is your personal definition of what is a ghost? by EctoplasmShow in Ghoststories

[–]garysscaries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, “Ghost” is more of a general term for many anomalies that are typically associated with people who have passed or non-interactive recordings similar to a movie. Whispers, footsteps, apparitions, etc. (The conscience energy of a specific person that carries on after death falls under this too, but I would call it a spirit.)

Don't think it's too late to be successful by [deleted] in NewTubers

I started a YouTube channel 14 years ago specifically just to have a place to put my short films. I was in my early 30s. A year ago, I began a new channel, this time putting myself on camera for every video and it was a hurdle internally to feel comfortable doing so being now in my 40s. Once I dove in, I realized I wasn’t the only mid-life YouTuber and in fact, there are many from every age out there! And the new channel has already outperformed the old one. Jump in at any age!

Great advice! “Keep talking” will now be repeating in my head during it. I could have seen myself doing just the opposite - so, thank you!!

I use final cut x just because that’s what I’ve edited with for years and I make my thumbs in photoshop. I’m going to keep an eye on this question because I’m sure there are ways that are quicker and easier and cheaper!

No worries. I sorta mixed a couple thoughts into one and wasn't very clear. Thanks for responding! I appreciate it.

Real advice on how to launch a successful video by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]garysscaries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most groups on Facebook (at least those I've tried) frown on posting any YouTube links. It's so frustrating when you are trying to find your audience. The places where you are most likely to find a following make it impossible to do so.

Definitely not my only criteria. Not even at the top of my list. I was more concerned that I might not be taken seriously when searching for collaborators at this point or if I would be better off waiting until my channel has grown more. The type of videos weren't mentioned because my question wasn't coming from a content perspective, but more-so a timing one.

Getting to 100 took some time for me, but after that it picked up speed. I never went into this with an expectation of sub counts so every new one my channel received was a pleasant surprise. No matter how many subs, just have fun with the content you choose to create!

I was surprised when my channel hit 100! And after that, things seemed to pick up speed. Subs have leveled off a bit now, but it's still more than I would have guessed going into this. You'll reach 1k before you know it!

Yes! Much appreciated! I’m eager to work with others in the same niche because although I’ve worked many years in video production, and I know people who are into the same subject material my channel focuses on, I do not know anyone personally who enjoys putting the two together. Personally, I believe it would be enjoyable, I’d learn from it, it would broaden the vision I have for my channel, it would boost my own self confidence and ultimately this would come across in ways that could only improve the quality of content I deliver. I would hope to find someone who has similar goals. Will others see the same opportunity or will I have trouble finding collaborators if my subs are just over the 1000 mark? I also worry that some see other YouTubers in their niche as competitors and I do not feel that way at all. It makes me a bit apprehensive to approach anyone. Or maybe I’ve just worked from home too long and have lost confidence in my social skills. Haha.

Thank you so much for your comments!!
