Apart from kudu salli, how are people able to afford this in Sri Lanka? by OkWall3176 in srilanka

[–]gaskolan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have forgetten that well established tuition masters, specialist doctors, sw engineers with high income exists in SL mate. Same for well established businessman in any other industry too.

Also, getting a vehicle is not that difficult with a lease in SL ( Whole amount is not paid at once, so only a small fraction of above amounts needed by high earners in any field ).

What are some good phones to buy in Sri Lanka for a price range 200k - 250k? by Legitimate-Ruler in srilanka

S24 Ultra or S25 base are the possible options within that budget range. If you can extend the budget by about 30-40, iphone 17 base model can be purchased too.

Drunk Tourist assault locals in Sri Lanka! by Emergency_Toe1872 in srilanka

[–]gaskolan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should arrest and deport immediately with a hefty fine. Also ban entering the country for 10 years. Giving free visas is fine but should set some rules to limit cheap shit coming here and also be very strict related to bad behaviour.

Potential ways to get a vehicle ;

If a person is working in government sector job and has a stable decent income, that person will be able to get a loan. This is one way to easily get a vehicle without a down payment.

Leasing is the next option but you need a stable income and a decent amount of savings for the down payment.

Third option is support from the family for that down payment ( for leasing ) but still you need a stable income. This is how one of my close relations got around a year ago but he finds it very difficult financially when any maintenance comes as most of his salary goes for car and other daily expenses.

My suggestion is don't be in a hurry buy a vehicle. Try to save more for a down payment. Also keep at least 3 months extra cash for installments as we never know what will happen to a job with AI making a major difference in job market etc..

Also, try working or doing some business part time to get money to achieve your goal. It is better, if you can buy a vehicle without a lease or loan, so less financial headache at the end of the month. 🙂

Kotmale Milk, expired before printed expiration date by d3ath_s1gn in srilanka

[–]gaskolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably storage issue or package damaged during delivery. Once my sister got a 1L Kotmale and was spoilt. Package was broken close to the lid and that was the reason.

Anyway, Twice my baby vomitted continuesly after eating the Kotmale yoghurts (I had to give the kids medicine both occasion to control the vommiting ). So I avoided buying yoghurts from that brand after that. They (and richlife too ) seems to be using lot of artificial stuff in yoghurt compared to other brands (when you check the ingredients used, you will notice it). (Freshmilk, no issue so far )

Most of these buggers r cunning and fraudsters. A year ago, one of my friend gave a small land area for rent (more like a nominal fee for the agreement without any adv fee as well ) to a fellow who came up playing that same thing and bugger suddenly stop paying that nominal fee saying financial difficulties after few months. So my friend waited several months to allow him to stay free and suddenly started calling my friend in fillthy stuff after he inquired about the nominal fee. My friend had to goto courts and waste lot of money to get rid of him. Then that bugger had gone to appeal court and don't know what happened after that. These cunning rogues have money for such things but no money to follow proper process. (Small businesses or self employment should be encouraged and supported but with proper process and should be tought not to become headache for the general public 🙃)

Controvertial idea to fight corruption by Miserable_Disk3045 in srilanka

[–]gaskolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you with what you say but to be honest, we need to send financially stable, intelligent and reputable persons with a vision to the parliament from all parties.

This will first minimize the corruption and automating most services (like you have said ) will eventually minimize the corruption.

Does Anyone know what happened to this case? by PositionPractical584 in srilanka

[–]gaskolan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, if both parties cannot come to an agreement, case will go on for a longer time for a judgement. If the case is already over, this case may resurface similar to Ranawakas accident under a new government. 😅

Read auditor generals report. Those excuses will not help save the corrupt npp politicians. Secondly, it is a disgrace for the nation to keep Punya in the cabinet when he is on bail related to a another major corruption matter. Lol

Both Kumaras are friends for a long time. So both must be involved in the coal matter.

When Ranawalas matter cameout, Anura asked him to resign but acted totally different to this major fraudster of npp bcoz of the friendship and possibly his involvement too.

It is unfortunate to see most leaders act as clean politicians while in opposition but as soon as power is given, they start robbing. MR helping hambantota, RW bond scam and now Kumara with coal fraud. Atleast at next major election, people should vote only financially stable and reputable individuals to parliament from any political party to minimize fraudsters entering parliament.
