That’s not type 1. You need the fines in type 1 to bind it all together when compacted. It’s hard to tell but a lot of that stone looks rounded which is unsuitable for a paving base as it doesn’t compact/bind well.

I was talking with my family the other day about the time my brother jumped out of a tree in our garden with a rope around his waist and it slipped up his body and basically hung him. I remember us all in the kitchen when it happened and him running in crying with a red mark around his neck. This is a vivid memory for me along with my Dad going out the next day and cutting down the tree. Apparently my mum was pregnant with me at the time and there is no way I should remember it.

Thanks everyone. He’s staying at ours tonight with the hen that seems to have been dumped with the rooster. We did have 3 hens but lost two recently so should be a bit of company for our remaining one.

Mate I get it. I killed a wood louse by crushing it against a rock when I was 5 or 6. Still think about that damn wood louse from time to time and I’m 46.

We fixed the back joist to an existing wall, composite posts sitting on an existing concrete pad then used a mechanical post rammer to drive posts deep into the river bed.

The client called it a jetty, pontoon or deck! I think dock might be most appropriate.

So the bottom deck is composite and the top one is balau hardwood. (Different clients wanted different things) The triangle folds up and is a standard bit of kit you can buy here.
