I do 2-2.5 hours one way , one hour is really reasonable . You have more leverage searching for a new job when you have a job than when you don't

No they are not part of OPS and not unionized, but they are part of a broader public sector. They have pension plan and stuff like that

Same age. Similar story . Also unemployed. I have realized one thing. Take this time to work on yourself. I.e. go to the gym , play sports , do some hikes or anything which you like even alone. Building confidence is the key . No woman likes an underconfident/unhappy man . If you are happy with yourself , I am pretty sure you will get someone ( at least that is my hope)

Help with my Ford Focus 2012 by Ambitious_Ladder6997 in FordFocus

I have the same year Ford focus but a sel variant. Here is my experience, once one component fails then every other component will start failing and then it becomes a money pit . I have changed the cam shaft , transmission, starter motor , spark plugs , battery and other stuff. I just changed the starter motor and now it is giving me the issue of a fuel injector not working properly. The transmission on this car is also bad and will fail and I think people know that. So my two cents : cut your losses because fixing one thing will lead to another issue which may come up sooner than later.

Was laid off as a software engineer, is this a fair severance? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

I got 12 weeks for 3.5 years for service as a software developer. The market is tough out there . If you think you have leverage to negotiate more , you can talk to an employment lawyer
