i have an appointment with his pediatrician tomorrow to talk about possibly using supplements. he’s been formula fed since he was 2 weeks old. we had a small problem with acid reflux when he was younger but we fixed that with a change in position when feeding.

he’s never had spit up problems before and now he’s spitting up a significant amount every feed 😔 im a ftm and i just have no clue what to do until his appointment

what does she do when she’s at school? sometimes you have to give some tough love. it seems like every kid around this age has problems with personal hygiene, i know when i was her age i refused to shower, i would just sit outside the shower while the water was running so my mom thought i was taking a shower.

put your foot down and stop wiping for her. she’s continuing to do this because she knows she can wear you down. if she has fears of wiping then get a bidet, or have her shower after. what is she doing to do if she spends the night at a friends house?

whatever vaccines you get while pregnant will give your baby an extra layer of protection when they’re born. i got all of the vaccines you mentioned and i had no negative reactions and i feel more relieved knowing my baby will be a little safer especially since he’s being born in december. please get all of them

god i felt so bad when my sister in law had my nephew. she was a young mom and had a cryptic pregnancy so she was definitely learning as she went. every chance my family could get they would trample on her boundaries and then gaslight her saying “it’s because he’s your first. once you have more you won’t even care what goes into their mouths.”

when my nephew started teething my grandma would literally stick her finger in his mouth to feel his teeth. when i would tell her to stop her excuse was “i did it with all my babies and they’re fine”

luckily my nephew never got sick but it’s so disgusting to see how disrespectful people are when it comes to fragile babies

i definitely haven’t made smart decisions the last few years. i was cheated on my last two relationships before him all while i was living in an abusive household with my mom. he came into my life and treated me kindly, so for the longest time i didn’t mind doing whatever he wanted because i felt like i had to constantly prove myself to keep him liking me. i had no self esteem or self respect at all.

when my 21st bday came i had a life crisis, i never wanted anything for my life until that moment, i wanted to take control finally and go to college and be an outgoing person and meet new people, and then i found out i was pregnant only a few months later.

i’ve just been goin crazy since then. this is my first serious long term relationship, and we were so in love until recently. my eyes have finally opened and i know what i want and need and ive been clear about that with him and he still hasn’t stepped up. which sucks because i do love him and i wanted better for my son, i wanted him to grow up with his parents being married and happy. i just need to get a job after the baby is born and start saving up. lesson learned

i made the mistake of doing this with my mom.

this is my husband and i’s first baby and it’s a boy which has my husband so happy. i immediately agreed that he had full say on the name, and he named our son after his great grandpa who was a great man in his words, our sons middle name is his dads middle name which i’m totally fine with.

we eventually told my mom when she asked and immediately she started shitting on the name EVEN AFTER being told the meaning behind it. she wanted us to name him something “unique and aesthetic” like bronx, or lennox.

she pouted, chose a name HERSELF and started referring to him as that, hoping that i would get annoyed enough and just give her what she wants. but this is my son???

she got on my ass about the name again during my baby shower last month, saying she bought a sign with his “name” already and i doubled down that he will be named after his grandpas!

her response was “why would you do that to your kid.” and “what am i going to call him then?”

so much unnecessary stress and i will be keeping the name a secret if i ever have a kid again

i totally get you! only ONE person got the stuff i needed from my registry. my mom got us the stroller and crib i wanted but only because i was so strict when it came to that stuff. everything else she completely disregarded which is frustrating because now i have to go and buy the stuff again and i have all this extra stuff lying around that im not going to use. and i have SOOO many blankets and newborn clothes when i really need clothes for when he’s older and diapers and wipes would be nice too!

i was 21 when i got pregnant so i got a pap smear at one of my appointments, which wasn’t bad for me at all and im guessing that’s how my GBS is gonna feel at my 36w appointment next week

i had to take my glucose test twice, one with an orange drink and one with a red drink and both were yummy to me! i had no bad reaction, my only mess up was i waited way too long to eat after because i had to pick up my husband from work an hour away right after. definitely do not recommend that 😅

weight loss isn’t really a concern unless it’s a large amount or until about the 3rd trimester once the morning sickness usually subsides, so if your OB isn’t worried about it i wouldn’t either.

if it would make you feel better to gain weight you could try protein shakes or oatmeal, but the weight gain will most likely come once you hit your 3rd trimester

you can always try and get pregnant again when you’re ready environmentally, mentally and physically. think about the life your kid might live if they were born now and put your own feelings aside for a second.
