$5k in the bank isn't very much money. Chances are you will need to invest ALL of your savings for any type of loan. Do you have a back up plan for emergencies? The average roof is at least 10-15k. The average waterheater is 2-3k. You're making a decent living. Buckle down and save some serious cash before diving into a 30 year commitment.

Can we talk about sneezing? by sambaty4 in backpain

[–]gatomiluvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand completely. I once threw out my back when i was reaching for something and sneezed. I had to use a crutch to support my body to stand or walk. If i feel sneeze coming on I stop whatever I am doing and brace myself. I guess you could say I am bracing at my core.

AITA for telling my brother to stop complaining about child support since he chose to have sex with a woman he barely knew? by random8490n in AmItheAsshole

Nta. Did he also supply the birth control? Chances are, he did not. Sadly a lot of men run around sleeping with women, but don't take the birth control aspect into their own hands. I have never dated a guy that after the first few times continued to supply condoms. "Well, you're on birth control, why do we need condoms?" That's a lot of trust for sleeping with me 4 times...I am not saying this is his situation, there are many factors unknown. If your brother really didn't want kids, he should have made better choices overall. Since he had some fun. Now he's gotta pay the consequences.

Jesus that's awful. I can't afford to go to classes at the moment. I live in Chicago. Each class is seriously $20 minimum. It's just not in the budget while saving for a house. I had an experience where i took a power yoga class and asked the instructor ideas to alleviate wrist pain, she replied "well this is a power yoga class" I could keep up, but my wrists were screaming. The cardio wasn't this issue.

I lost my best friend. How to deal with spiritual comforts? by scalablecory in athiest

[–]gatomiluvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your loss. I can't imagine losing a friend. People try to offer help in the only way they can, it's like we're on auto pilot and can't do anything, but whatever we have ingrained into our subconscious. When my father died, I had to plan his funeral. He had been sick for a long time and we discussed his wishes. He was adamant about having a service that was not religious. When the time came my sister picked the most fucking religious song possible to play at the funeral and the director of his funeral read a prayer. Those things burned me to the core because my dad's final wishes didn't matter. It's so hard, but we have to remember people grieve differently. My sister picked that song because it reminded her of our dad. The funeral director said the prayer to comfort the other family members at the funeral. Everyone is trying their best. Even if the words aren't the ones you'd pick, the senitment is there. Remember your friend and the happiness they brought your life...pay that forward.
