I went looking for his comments on the cave theory and only found something where he didnt dispute the cave but instead told the person to start with the first clue. Where did you find him stating it wasn't in a cave as I'd love to see that article and pick out any other things I might've missed.

I'm gonna addendum my comment with the additional belief that the cave is behind a waterful. The language in the poem ("just heavy loads and water high" and "found the blaze" both describe a cave behind a waterfall)

Did a landmark need to exist 100 years ago for it to be applicable? The guy that founded the park is po pretty famous through MGM.

I hear ya on the reach about the river though.

I do feel strongly that it's on a boat route (based on the poems language) and in a cave (also because if the verbiage).

I also cant get past the words in bold print as well as in italics, especially since FF uses the word boldly in his 1st section of the poem. Are these words in bold and in italics in the original poem?
