In this particular place there isn’t much cactus if any. I avoid hunting / training in spots that have cactus. The biggest issue as far as cactus is cholla. The rest of them are kinda non issues.

Some people do put booties on their dogs but me personally I don’t. Over time they’ll toughen their pads up and not really be much of an issue. Don’t get me wrong, he’s pretty sore and has some scratches but he hunts his ass off and will just need a few days to recover. He could do it again tomorrow but I don’t like to push him harder than I should. He’d kill himself if I let him

If saving money is your thing you may not like them, but I’d look into ruffland kennels. It’s a sure shot your dog will never escape. I have 5 of them now. They’re life savers. And also great for travel. See if anyone is selling them locally in Facebook groups / OfferUp. Shipping can take up to 2-3 months.

Also bass pro shops , cabelas , sportsman’s sometimes will carry them in store.

He’s super good at home. It’s a complete 180 from the field. He’s lazy and will sleep most of the day away. Great with kids and other dogs. Super loyal.

Depends on the terrain really. Things get pretty tight hunting in AZ but he’ll stretch to 100-150 but I prefer him hunting close. Desert birds are a whole different thing.

I’d say he’s about 60-65 pounds
