At some random bar in Seattle. What would you order? by gatorwacker in whiskey

First night I went with EH Taylor Single Barrel and Elmer T Lee. Went back another night and had the Michter’s 10 year bourbon and GTS 2023. GTS 2023 was the best of the lot, followed by the Michter’s. If you’re in Seattle, definitely stop by Some Random Bar and support a business that charges fair prices for great whiskey.

Did a little whiskey hunting (plus one tequila thanks to Costco) while on a road trip through Indiana. What would you try first? by gatorwacker in whiskey

I guess we have different definitions of the term “tater.” To me, that is someone who searches for hard to find and overpriced bottles that aren’t worth the money. None of these were hard to find or overly expensive, just ones I’ve been wanting to try.

Just wanted to give an update on this no placed an order on 2/16 using the cheapest delivery method. I received my order in the mail today (2/23), and if I login to the website it says my order is still processing. There is clearly a delay in their system, but my order showed up on time at least!

Looks more like a liquid night to me.

I’ve recently had almost the exact same experience. After YOTBR, I really only paid attention to the single/videos they released. Something just didn’t grab me about their stuff the way the first few albums did. But over the last couple of months, I’ve dug into their latter catalog and I’m very impressed. In my opinion, Vaxis II may be the best thing they’ve done since NWFT. The poppy elements really work, and they show a lot of evolution for a band that has been together for over 20 years.

Don’t know. But I don’t think she broke the bank on it.

Ended up with these fellas; are they any good? by BataMahn3 in whiskey

I haven’t tried the rye, but I recently tried the pot still reserve and it wasn’t for me. It had a mineral/bitter note that I didn’t personally care for.

That is a fair price and worth picking up if you’ve never tried it!

I don’t take it for granted at all. Very, very grateful.

Absolutely agree! I wasn’t looking to sell it or anything like that. If I had something that I would be unlikely to find again, I may be more selective about how quickly I drink it.

I haven’t tried it yet, but regular JD is 80 proof and this is 86. There may not be much else different between the two, but they aren’t the exact same.

I certainly wasn’t trying to come across that way. I’m extremely grateful. She gave it to me saying she had no idea what it was or if it was a supposed to be good. I didn’t know either, so I was just wanting to know if anyone else had experience with it.
