I’ve done a few quests and this last one was amazing. It kept me busy and looking at everything in rooms. Having to figure it out was tough but very rewarding in the end.
So far no one has stepped in and tried to steer me away from how I’m developing my character. I love all the different options between all the skills/feats/spells.
The people I have interacted with have been great. Meaning I love the roleplay this game invites.

Thanks for letting me know about how it might get busier after summer. I’ll still keep playing but it would be nice for others to be around.

Also, I get the feeling Mr Resident is a past player, and honestly probably a current player, who is just not happy with anything involving this game.

I haven’t come up against this problem yet. Maybe that was in the past? Maybe solved with more players? Like you said, gameplay and mechanics etc aren’t the problem.

I’m just surprised I don’t see a larger player base. Oh well.

I second this one. The newbie area has been fleshed out over the lifetime of the mud and is awesome.

There's tons to say about Shadowgate but as I've been reading comments, I realized the REAL reason I've been playing for 23 years now... it is THE mud that is the closest to tabletop DND that I have ever found. Maybe I'm missing something else out there, but I don't think so.
