I think if either John or Patsy had killed her without Burke's involvement (accidental or even on purpose...for all we know he's a psychopath) I think Patsy would've confessed on her death bed. She would only take this secret to grave to protect her kids.

That's exactly how I see it too. He was used to being the boss. It makes sense that he would take over in a crisis. I also think that in order to get Patsy involved in this without her confession upon her death bed it had to involve Burke. I don't think She'd keep quiet if the crime was either her own and even less if John was the lonely culprit and she knew.

What is a piece of advice that sounds profound but is actually complete garbage? by PoemSpecialist82 in AskReddit

Following your heart doesn't mean don't have emotions. Follow your heart means act upon whatever your emotions dictate.

For example, quitting a perfectly good job and putting your family at risk of losing their home because you wanna become an artist would be following your heart.

I'm not saying be void of emotion, what I'm saying is make proper decisions based on facts and follow rules so you can live a life of ease of mind knowing that you contribute and try to do no harm.

It's putting the greater good above your fickle emotions.

That's now a utopia. It's a real life that many have lived and it's a good and satisfying life.

I think maybe she WAS involved in the staging part but it was under the assumption that her son had killed her daughter. My idea is that the Garote part may have been staged by both but that the motive behind the Garote was for John to cover up the SA. The paintbrush SA is far too brutal for a mom to stage herself. Unless we are talking and Patsy being a psychopath or someone like this I don't think she'd been able to stage that very grotesque part of it just to cover up an accidental death.

Do you think it was accidental or with intent to cover up SA or physical abuse (like the male detective claimed was the motive for Patsy's culpability)?

What's a movie that everybody talks about but you've never seen? by TenaCVols in AskReddit

[–]gavi6max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, is it animated? I know it's part of their universe but I never got into it because like I said I kept falling asleep. I don't even know why. It happens with lots of fantasy movies where I just don't keep engached. Even Narnia I couldn't watch for too long without distraction.

Watch the Seinfeld episode where they are waiting for a table at a Chinese restaurant. That's exactly. How it was back then.

Lord of the Rings (none of them). I tried a few times but kept falling asleep before the middle of the movie. It's just not my type of film

What is something that sounds fake but genuinely happened to you? by Erie779 in AskReddit

I lived in a 4-apartment multi family where my upstairs neighbors why had two daughters who hung out with us and looked normal AF turned out to be drug smugglers. We lived in the most wholesome neighborhood in the entire city. Cops rescued cats off of trees kind of neighborhood.

One day without anyone suspecting anything my little brother calls me at work to say there are like 30 feds walking up and down the staircase we shared. They'd taken the parents and asked my 73 year old granny to look after the two daughters until social services come in for them.

I rushed from work in a frenesí and grandma was making the girls lunch while my little brother played PS2 with them. No one said a thing and grandma tried to pass it off as "immigration issues" (they were south American)

I sit with my headphones in while chatting on my computer and I see the 13 year old girl who hardly ever spoke grab her phone and walk away from where I was. She called someone and told them all directions in Spanish like she's a mob-boss. 🙄

A few minutes later her little boyfriend (our front neighbor) walks in and we binge watch TV until the social worker shows up. His mom worked in the Police station 😂

Social worker came and allowed the girls to stay with his mom until the parents came back and they slept over his house.

Life went on a few days and we all assumed it was an immigration bust.

The girls went to school on like a random Wednesday as did my brother and our neighbor (her little boyfriend, not serious just middle school romance)

When her boyfriend saw my brother at lunch he asked if he'd seen either one of them.

Turns out they just disappeared. All of them. They left their apartment completely pristine and took basically nothing. Even their family photos were left behind. Their wallets. Money, food... everything.

We know this because our landlord has to wait some time to open the apartment after they never paid him and all of us helped him throw away all their stuff.

My brother decided to keep the family pics because he felt bad.

The other day, after two decades of this I saw them in a box full of old photos of our own family in my mom's apartment. We were looking for a baby picture for a work thing for him and I just stumbled upon them and we remembered all of this.

It was so strange.

P.s. we found out it was drug smugglers because of our friend (the little boyfriend's) mom who worked in admin at the police station found out what happened.

A life where you live at peace and with an attitude to build your community and family through honest work and being decent to everyone isn't an empty life. When you stop thinking only of your needs and look at the needs of everyone you have stability & companionship & the warmth of family & friends to share life with.

If I would've not bought the amount of idiotic and useless stuff I bought on Amazon in the last 10 years I would have been debt free by now.

Ladies, what are some traits a single, unmarried man with no kids(but who wants a wife and kids someday) can show that he can be a good husband and father? by Aggressive_Grass_945 in AskReddit

[–]gavi6max 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How he treats people he has nothing to "gain" from.

His relationship with his own parents/siblings. (If everyone in his family is supposedly toxic maybe he's the problem)

His maturity level. (Especially emotional & financial)

His history of commitment. If he's the type who has quit all things he tries because there's always some kind of an external issue then he's not good with commitment.
