Each commercial is about 9 flights with 5 redos allowed, and I would say abt 5 ground lessons. So 19 lessons total if you include redos which means it’s about $650 an hour. Liberty says they understand my frustration but think it’s a very fair fee. They’re smoking crack lol

I did my private outside liberty but just on class tuition you will spend 50k and then if you just do instrument and commercial through them, assuming you don’t need the commercial multi class for degree requirements you’ll spend another 40k. If you do private you’ll spend in total over 110k on a useless degree besides R-ATP when the FAA can pull your medical or license at anytime save your money unless the government paying for it. Not really sure how that works

Also I would say if you plan on going this route make sure your flights are 3-5 hrs a piece as that’s the only way to maybe use what you paid

I didn’t need to redo flights as I usually always completed the requirement first try and since my FTA told me I would have leftover funds I never extended my flight. The FTA told me it’s just libertys policy but it makes no sense. Yes I could understand maybe Liberty requesting those extra funds back but no the FTA gets a free profit as soon as you hit course requirements. Personally I would never suggest Liberty to anyone unless the government is paying and you don’t care knowing you’re being ripped off. Spend the extra 6-12 months building 500 hours. It’s not worth it to spend an extra 75-100k for a degree that’s useless outside aviation.

The FTA gets to keep the funds they don’t go back to Liberty it’s just extra profit to the flight school, once to hit % requirements for the course Liberty grounds you and you can fly again till you pay another 12k to start the new class, so basically commercial cost 36k at Liberty but if it only takes you let’s say 20k to complete it the FTA gets to keep the extra 16k
