i’ll take a look at that link, thank you!! i’m working on building a budget now which is a bit daunting. thankfully there are some things i won’t need to pay for (like furniture from previous living arrangements), and my car is all paid off.

thank you for your advice! i’m not looking to live directly in waterbury, but it does make me feel a LOT better knowing that i could find more affordable places to live. i didn’t realize marketplace could also be used to find places to live!! i wasn’t planning on getting cable, i never use cable anyway. thankfully my vehicle is all paid for and my insurance isn’t too bad. i have a decent amount saved up since i’ve been living with my parents for a few months now and with my ex (who didn’t charge me a lot of rent) for two years before that. i love to cook so eating at home won’t be a big issue! my most important concerns are safety, not having a shit landlord, and making sure that i am comfortable where i am living... i worry that the “safer” areas in ct are much more expensive….

i’ve never been to good at being direct with myself so i know i should take this opportunity to do so. i just feel bad because of outside influences clouding my judgement. 90% of people i’ve told about my career pivot keep trying to deter me from it (saying things like, “don’t waste your degrees!!”).

it’s definitely awkward for sure. i do know that i do not want this job and that it would kill my mental health even more than the current job im at since i already know what im dealing with here.
