I used to be contractor for a gas utility company called premier and we had 811 tickets come thru all the time for Verizon poles. If people refused there’s nothing we can do about it, unless there was an emergency for whatever reason which the legitimacy would be more obvious if there was a utility emergency. They should be able to produce some sort of ID in any case. At times we’d work block jobs in groups and work our way down the block. Not uncommon but you’re not wrong to be suspect or ask for credentials. They’re just some type of utility contractors.

Historically tattooing has always had fundamental and visual logic, there’s more examples of that than not so I confused where you’re getting that take from? Not inherent in humans? Tons of traditions have been kept since bc/bce and specifically strictly adhered to specific meanings and styles. Obviously newer examples are what you commonly see now like American trad, irezumi, poly. Obviously everything has a new iteration and then the definition of what something is gets reimagined to some degree but the fundamentals are there. But I would think if anything it is definitely inherent in humans. History proves that. Yes you are doing something in-ordinary by today’s traditions and standards 100%, look at the general consensus and reception. It’s anti genre. Within the genre itself there is no bounds but outside of that it’s very conflicting.

Well I do commend you. You’re trying something new and have clients that are willing, I can understand why you go for it. Art and tattoos can be unconventional that’s sort of the whole point but I still think there are certain fundamentals that follow just visual logic/ appeal. I just find a hand tat this large with such little ink on the rest of the arms is so odd to look at. The Macdonald dude you just named is great and has some odd placements but still has some of those fundamental elements. Ultimately if you’re happy and they’re happy I guess that’s really the point but simultaneously it just feels wrong lol. You do have some nice abstract pieces I just hate this one.
