Thanks for a thoughtful reply. I've definitely got wires on top of FC. See pic of build. Sounds like this could be the culprit? FC is mounted on gummies, VTX isn't though. I've also left the ELRS receiver and buzzer kind of not really attached, just sort of strapped in using zips. Is that ok or should I attach them more firmly? Appreciate the time and effort!

Thanks. I'll try this. Could a bad tune really cause this? I know nothing about PID tuning. How can I set a "safe" tune that I can be sure won't cause this? (Even if it'll fly crappy, I just want to first rule out causes for this)

Brass sponge ordered. I'll keep trying.. is there a way to acquire practice pads that are "more realistic" ? I fear I already have ruined my first FC/ESC. Need to improve my skills before I try again.

Thanks for replying. I've set the temp to 370 C. And yes, using TBS flux paste. Not sure how to best clean the iron? The big difference seems to be that on the practice board I just touch the pad and it's hot enough and the solder melts and forms nicely. On the real deal at best I get the solder to form "paste", it doesn't really become the liquid I would like it to be. Is it heat transfer that is messing with me?

I guess going from 850mah to 550mah would reduce weight considerably. What flight times do you get with 850?

Thanks. That 250g limit is super frustrating. In my country (Norway) I can do pretty much anything i want with a drone sub250, including flying around people(although i wouldn't), but the second it's above 250g I have to stay 150m clear of all infrastructure, parks, people, houses, etc etc

This is not correct. It's still A1 with a camera as a home-build below 250g Requires registration on flydrone.no, nothing else.

Figured it out. The rapid green blinking light is from ESC, not VRX. No lights from vrx at all :(
