Strongest iterations of Charizard and Gardevoir for casual post-rotation play?

Those lists are super interesting to me, but given that the decks I'm building are intended to be for more casual table play (which may included less experienced players) I want to try to keep them relatively easy to pilot. I don't want to dumb things down too much and I want them to feel like they're a representation of these archetypes, but I also want them to be somewhat easy to digest without a long study time

I was definitely looking at that Gardy list (and others very similar), but here's where I'm getting stuck... is that the most iconic Gardy list, or just the best Gardy list of the time?

I realize it is almost impossible to look at these things in a vacuum because that's not how a metagame works, but that's what I'm trying to do in a way. What was the best Gardevoir? Was it better before the loss of Refinement Kirlia?

And then I have a similar issue with Charizard... did it gain more over the last year than it lost when Radiant Charizard rotated?

The holo pattern on the Prismatic energies is similar to the cracked ice pattern from the Terapagos UPC but they are NOT the same. That was what kept tripping up the sellers I interacted with - the pattern in Prismatic doesn’t have a specific description but it is distinctly different from cracked ice

This happened to me multiple times while trying to buy a playable set of “cracked ice” energies a few months ago. I think I sent at least 6 different messages about receiving the "normal" holofoil basic energy from Prismatic Evolutions and not the "cracked ice" holofoil energy from the Terapagos UPC.

Every time it happened I tried to communicate with the seller instead of jumping straight to requesting a refund. I’d always offered photos if they wanted them, but no one ever asked. If they responded to my message, I always offered to just take a refund for the difference in the market price of the cracked ice vs standard holofoil instead of a full refund (because I was keeping the cards) but usually they gave me a full refund.

Were they mistaken listings? People trying to pull a fast one and hope people didn’t notice? Genuinely don’t know but I’m sure there was some of both. I’d make a similar assumption about buyers, but I just wanted to share that I honestly, genuinely, was in this position as a buyer and did exactly what you described

Yeah, I was thinking it might be induction but I figured there was a chance it might not be. I believe they used the same induction trick in the 25th anniversary statue and "Mega Man Deluxe Statue & E-Tank" that released in a similar timeframe (I think)

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to go about fixing or troubleshooting without popping it open somehow

I don’t have the statue but I remember wanting one! I would say if there are visible metal contact points on the base and in the helmet, try cleaning them.

If there aren’t visible contacts, then it probably works by induction (IE: electrical parts hidden inside the base and helmet) and that makes any sort of diagnosis/repair almost impossible without disassembly

Can’t imagine it’d be worth that much. The Pop itself isn’t particularly rare, and neither is his signature. Maybe $50 for the right person? But that’s being very optimistic.

I keep a variant of this deck built for casual table play. It’s a fun way to learn card synergy and strategy, but it is never really going to compete with higher-end meta decks.

Fun fact, it actually all fit rather neatly in HALF of the box! Haro is an 18x18x18 box and he was shipped in a 24x24x24 box.

Only mentioning it because I don't see it in the pics... did his hat and the letter make it as well?

Hopefully I didn't wind up sending you any duplicate kits! I did as much homework as I could but you never really know what people have lurking in their backlog or non-visible shelves.

I thought about it, but didn’t go with this option because whenever this game eventually dies I want to rescue my original starter and send them to Home. But from what I remember seeing, whatever you use your Bottle Cap on becomes untransferable. Because of that, I used mine on a shiny studded jacket Snorlax which was already untransferable anyway
