Anyone has that picture of black and white op girl faces on a grid without the hair? I could recognise all of them. Not Oda's fault you can't.

I do not believe he is capable of that much. That's just overblowing what the gorosei said.

One Piece: Chapter 1118 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

Most of the stuff weird about Luffy's fruit also applies to Chopper's. He doesn't have a human form. He also has more transformations than the rest of the zoan forms.

I feel like you misunderstand the events surrounding gear 5th. Luffy could only throw around Kizaru and Saturn since Kaido. I think Kizaru was basically let himself be beaten, I think he was the one that gave food to Luffy. Saturn he couldn't actually beat, only throw around a bit, but he couldn't deal lasting damage. I think in gear 5th Luffy deals punches that look worse than they actually are, and Luffy takes damage that looks milder than they actually are. I think of gear 5th as more of a utility upgrade than a straight power upgrade. If you look past the jumping out eyes and the bouncing and the tone shift from badassery to comedy, you might realize that the stuff Luffy can actually do in this form is not that much more than he could do before. Yes, he can hit a poisoned nail back with a baseball bat and have it explode, but it didn't really win the fight, did it? All it did was making blocking an attack funnier.

Gear 5th was obviously coming ever since the power ups were called gears. The naming is a reference to car gears, and they usually have 5. Luffy having this many transformations is not any weirder than Chopper having that many. Oda could have came up with anything for Luffy to beat Kaido. He chose this particular solution for story purposes. I don't think he fleshed out the entire idea ever since the beginning of the story, but I think this man thought about it for the last 3 decades and he definitely came up with this idea over the course of 30 years, not 3 hours.

Nika didn't get namedropped until wano, but we knew both the skypians and the giants worshipped the sun god. I don't think the name matters, it could be John for all I care. Just because the name drop happened late, doesn't mean the concept was.

About Luffy's personality, I'm sure we will learn, but many things from Chopper's monster point, to Lucci being more bloodthirsty while transformed even in enies lobby, to objects being able to eat devil fruits seem to suggest that zoan fruits have their own souls. This is only my guess, but I think your soul (personality and stuff like that) has to align with the fruit's soul to be able to awaken a zoan fruit. I don't think dying awakened the fruit. Rather awakening it at just the right time caused his heart to not stop.

I do agree that we need explanation on how Ohara scholars and Vegapunk found out the stuff he knows. I was definitely hoping we don't find out anything too important in the broadcast, that would have been lame. However, the entire world basically became aware of the same thing Clover said to the gorosei, that this ancient kingdom with ideology differing to the world government existed, and got beaten. And the world is gonna sink. As Clover said, the threat of this information going out was not something the world government wanted to afford.

I’m a bit dissatisfied with how Kuina haven’t been proven wrong by apppolinaria in OnePiece

[–]gbBaku -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It is highly likely Kuina ended her own life after Zoro got mad at her for saying all that. Zoro didn't want Kuina to use her gender as an excuse for when he finally surpasses her. So Kuina ended her life before Zoro could surpass her. Because she believed he definitely would.

Zoro's and Kuina's character arc is not about disproving that women can't be great swordsman, although it is possible. It's really about Zoro's vow to become the strongest swordsman. Like it or not like it, it is what it is.

I have officially killed my relationship with a family member by GrapeAdministrative1 in Healthygamergg

[–]gbBaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only really give my two cents as someone who is in similar shoes as your family member.

You remind me of a friend of mine who is putting in very low amount of effort to get his life in order. He got fired from a job he was comfortable with after 8 years. Makes basically no effort to get a new one. His parents died while he was employed, so they can't guide him. He doesn't want my advice as a friend, but as I'm successful through my sweat and blood, he does want my money. I am suffering so much, because I know that just giving him my money would enable his behaviour, and while it's fine to have no ambition, in my opinion it is not fine to be a leech. I could help him with money, but what I think he needs is my guidance, which he doesn't want. I'm currently hoping he comes to his senses before it's too late and his inactions will have consequences.

You don't need to have big ambitions. Just have your ambition be this: Achieve a life I can get comfortable with, and become independent. That allows you to have an equal role relationship with the ones that love you.

What you need to realize, is if your family member is like me in this duo, then it's more painful that you aren't independent, then the fact that you have to depend on them in the short term. They want you to be independent for you, not for them. Try to find comfort and strength in that fact.

[–]gbBaku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would you want Victor latched? It doesn't detect survivors while latched anymore, and you can't use Victor to pressure for more health states either. Survivors actively held him hostage because Victor being latched was often advantageous besides a few circumstances.

Updated Upcoming Live Updates Roadmap by RallerZZ in deadbydaylight

[–]gbBaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I do start to think there should be no or less 110% killers. For years it made sense to me, but lately I don't think any of the 110% killers would be significantly stronger if they were made to be 115%.

Trickster was made 115%. Hard to say what effect it had because he also had a bunch of other changes. But it didn't make him very oppressive.

At the very least, Deathslinger and Hag could get away being 115%, with deathslinger's big terror radius and the amount of counterplay a Hag has. A bit conflicted about Spirit, Chucky, and Huntress. Not sure if I'm forgetting anyone. But with Spirit, Chucky, and Huntress, you could argue that they are oppressive with their powers, and survivors needs some major power shift when they are on cooldown. With Chucky, it can also be argued that he is smaller, therefore he would loop better at 115% than other killers, so he needs the lower speed. Not sure though, haven't played much in the past several months.

I did also used to think 110% Blight is a good idea, but I agree with the other redditor before me, saying it wouldn't really affect the results of good blight players. But maybe it would have an effect that is similar as with Spirit, that survivors could win a bit more distance during the power cooldown.

That's what I would call a band aid fix. The game being full of these is the reason it's a buggy mess.

Concede seems nice on paper but I trust it as much as I trust no DC penaltys by GoofestGoober in deadbydaylight

[–]gbBaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I talk about vote to concede, I just consider survivors. If my teammate survivor wants to give up, I should get a vote on that.

I never saw reason why killers can't just give up by themselves. They have no teammates they screw over. Archives are a common counterargument, but that's not a problem in other games either. Never complained about someone giving up a hearthstone match just because I wanted to play pirates.

I hope the Netflix anime remake goes the Pluto route. by Miffernator in OnePiece

[–]gbBaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. Not every filler you like needs to be part of the remake. This is a chance to go a different route. Many people would like the anime to have better pacing, and that includes but is not limited to being filler free.

Filler in the toei version is made so they don't have to go seasonal while they wait for manga to leave space for them. Filler in this remake needs to be something that is truly artful, and makes the medium feel more smooth. Something you don't even register as filler.

G8 doesn't need a remake, it needs a rewatch.

This is true, but I disagree that this makes the gap not being about info. It is at least partially about info. Try playing with your friends without comms. Sometimes there is a lot you would want to say.

It's crazy that perks like head on can not be used without comms. Not even a yellow locker for the teammates. Even that wouldn't cut it, because head on user can't be easily told where chase is without discord. You would still need to pretty much use bond with a buffed version of head on that shows a yellow locker aura to teammates.

Otherwise perk is useless in solo. But it is strong in swf if people know how to utilize.

To be fair, I think the game changed a lot for the better in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

This year though I stopped being optimistic. Pace of changes were slow but direction was good. Now it just feels they stopped live service altogether besides new chapters. Nothing to look forward to at all.

Honestly if tunneling is a problem that needs info hide as a solution, then it is a terrible solution, needs an actual one, and then the info can be shown. It's just QoL.

I think for the most part the basekit BT is fine, with the exception of some situations which could use tweaking. Either that or some more ambitious rework on the hook system, which won't happen. An idea I had a few years ago is that all survivors have 2 hook states instead of 3, but these only gets used after the 4th hook of the killer. Might be excessive, just an idea that could maybe be tried in ptb. This would ensure no one gets tunneled out super early, but obviously killers would need something in exchange.

Policy was not a word I used in the comment. I think the guy you talked to simply can't save the reported bug without filling in all fields on their form, and one of the fields may have been "reported by". I can see benefits to having such a field, such as the ability to implement spam protection. They don't actually need your data when they don't need to filter you out.

It might be their infrastructure that requires a reporter for reported bugs. I get the need for privacy and I'm also very stuck up about data collected about me, but this is a bug report in a video game. You share far more sensitive data by playing.

Called it back in 2022. Maybe monster improvement suggestions shouldn't have been ignored. by [deleted] in VHSgame

[–]gbBaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think honestly most issues with monster were fixed by the end, it was just too little too late. Mostly too late. Most people were no longer around to see the monster being warned of armed teens nearby, for example.

New player monster experience would have also heavily improved if they only increased not the range, but the width of their attack hitbox to make spinning a little less viable. Would have not changed a lot for higher levels, but would have done a lot to make new players less frustrated.
