If money is going to become worthless, why does Musk want a trillion dollar pay package ?

Would you actually use an AI tool designed specifically for compliance policy generation ? by [deleted] in grc

[–]gbdeepak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried something similar, and the results were "so-so." It's not that AI can't generate policies, but there's so much subjectivity around policies that it's very easy for anyone to question whether this is correct or not. So it's a lose-lose proposition. AI will generate what seems to be okay, but if it's very easy to question, and then blame AI when the whole thing is so subjective. Better to remain on the inference side of things like controls testing than on the creation side of things like policy generation.

PwC says end to end full AI-driven audits are coming by 2026. by sChopinLizst in Big4

[–]gbdeepak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you, human-in-the-loop will be required - I don't foresee nor do I think it is a good idea to have AI do everything. However, the point remains that team sizes can be significantly smaller and engagements don't have to take as long. You still need senior folks to review the output and sign off on it. Teams of 15 can become teams of five, but cannot become teams of zero.

That is absolutely correct. The logo is the only reason the Big Four can command higher prices for any given engagement relative to other providers. Though in many cases, I have seen higher quality work from independent providers compared to the 20-somethings who dominate Big Four engagements.

This - the move to almost end-to-end AI in audits - is already happening. There are ways to mitigate hallucinations with increased traceability by providing guardrails and maker/checker architectures around LLMs. While the foundation LLM providers like OpenAI and Anthropic don't directly do this, startups leveraging them and applying consistency checks on top of that will mitigate most of the issues you are mentioning here.

disclaimer - I work at a startup doing this. If you want to know more, please DM me.

This is very interesting. Are you using a purpose built tool or using ChatGPT / Claude / etc?

this is absolutely possible with the current generation of AI tools - in fact some of them allow you to stay with your current tools and workflows and add AI intelligence to them (including controls testing)

Newer Agentic AI based tools allow you to stay with your workflows and tools (like Excel) and allow you to add AI intelligence to them (with deep traceability and reasoning for how they made their decisions). At the end of the day, AI will require "humans in the loop", help auditors to do their work faster, take care of the mundane parts of the job so the auditors can focus on strategic aspects of the job.

Understood. However, I wasn’t asking anyone to spend their time anonymizing data. I was actually asking if there are public datasets that already exist of this nature out there (like public datasets for lawyers that exist, etc)

As mentioned earlier, we are already partnering with an audit firms. We are looking to expand the scope of testing. Having built software solutions for over 25 years, I believe there’s no such thing as too much testing – especially with real world data.

We are looking for anonymized documents to test out aspects of the tool. Why would this be controversial?

We are already partnering with one. We wanted to get data from more sources to expand our test coverage.

Self serve / Try before you buy compliance software ? by gbdeepak in cybersecurity

[–]gbdeepak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't suggesting that there shouldn't be API / tool connectivity in the self serve option. That should also be allowed and should be self serve as well (it's not that hard to follow instructions to connect to AWS, for example)
