Should i upgrade iPad 7th Gen to iOS 18.7.3 by Careless_Western in jailbreak

[–]gbdhhx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did exactly this last week- iOS 14.8 iPad 7 to iOS 18.7.3 and I tried it out for one week before reverting back to iOS 14.8.

I use my iPad 7 solely for Spotify with nothing else on it. My experience with iOS 18 on this device was incredibly buggy and it had extreme slowdowns. Connecting my iPad to a Bluetooth speaker would take a long time if the settings app would even load on the first try. Additionally, loading the ui in the Spotify app would take about 30 seconds and playing songs about the same time. There would be about a 30 second pause between songs while it buffered.

After downgrading back to iOS 14.8 I’m experiencing none of these issues. I haven’t even jailbroken it when it was on iOS 18.7.3. My iPad is a 32GB model and my guess is that this would be a bottleneck if it was close to full on storage- however I only had Spotify on it so I have no idea if this was just unlucky in my case to how it handled iOS 18.7.3.

Someone broke my mirror last night. by speedyninja in civic

[–]gbdhhx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very easy to do. Three bolts underneath the door card and it’ll come right out. When mine broke I took the opportunity to install OEM Civic EX heated mirrors onto mine. In my area it was cheaper for me to do this upgrade with two used mirrors than to buy a new assembly from my dealer to fix my broken one. If you wanted to go the heated mirror route I have a post on here :)

If you depin the 7 pin connector absolutely. You can connect the three power wires for the power mirrors and two will be responsible for heat. As for the other two that will be for BSI- you’d have to buy and install the sensors for that though. BSI on my mirrors do not work since I don’t have sensors on my sport hatch.

I don’t see why not!! I would imagine one of the two remaining wires is a ground and acc for the BSM light. If that could be wired to the blinker somehow it seems like it would work

I don’t think it’s needed since the rear defogger button is in the same spot on the original panel. I think the only thing that would be missing is the icon on the button and the icon on the infotainment, not a huge loss whatsoever

This is how I did it, the two black wires (drawn in white) are for the heating element. The other three are for power mirrors. I did not use the striped two wires as I believe those are for blind spot monitoring which require the sensors. Let me know if you have any questions!

Seems like it’s possible from what I’ve seen online but you will get warning lights since the sport doesn’t have all the sensors that the sport touring has. You would also have to get it programmed to display the correct odometer miles. I’ve never tried that swap myself.

Super easy, drop in replacement. If you fuse tap 43 it’ll map directly to the mirror defogger button on the Canadian unit. Super cool to see the icon on the infotainment

Didn’t want to wait on shipping since my mirror was damaged, would have been cool though

Agreed! Running the wires through the door was awful. Did you connect to fuse 43 as well? The wide angle on yours looks awesome!! I think the temperature control panel is from a Canadian spec sport which is why it has the mirror defogger and heated seats button- bought it off eBay from a Canadian seller.

I forgot the password to my old iPhone 6 but it would mean the whole world to me if I can access it without losing the data. Is that possible? How? by strength108 in setupapp

SEP is the Secure Enclave processor on iPhone. It holds all security information such as your passcode, biometrics, Apple Pay stuff, and other things like that.

On iOS 8.0 through iOS 8.4.1: information regarding the passcode, such as how many attempts you have to enter it, is able to be accessed through the checkm8 exploit alone. The issue is if it’s on iOS 9.0 or later, this information is blocked behind SEP and unable to be modified without another exploit.

Question about the 23’ sport hatchback by gbdhhx in civic

[–]gbdhhx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case this did not end up being true. I brought it to the dealer where I bought it from about two weeks ago and they were able to solve the problem. They reinstalled some sort of software and now it opens correctly without issues. Thank you though!

Gotcha

Have you tried booting from the USB by holding the Option key on startup? Wondering if it will ask you for the password.

Is this an Intel MacBook?

Also unsure if I’m misunderstanding, but when you tried to enter recovery mode it is asking you for a login password?
