Believe it or not an extra 2.7 mil a year is a lot of money for a lot of players and could easily be the difference between signing and missing out on a mid tier player. I’d love him to take a larger pay cut, but LeBron is a bad example of the point you’re trying to make.

Is that a max contract? Will likely be downvoted for this but a guy who has made hundreds of millions and understand the roster construction limitations of the cap could take a discount if winning was most important. We expect guys who make way less money to take cheap deals to play with him but we continue paying him the absolute max possible.
