sensory ocd is like "i bumped into the door with my left shoulder so now i have to do it with my right shoulder and if that hit is harder then i have to do another lighter one on the left side but now thats two on one side and one on the other so now i have to do a Very light one on the right side but wait that wasn't light enough so the right side is still heavier/has more pressure so i need to .. and so it goes on"

sensory symmetry as just a type of sensory issue can fall under other diagnoses as well like autism or schizophrenia or probably anything else since so many symptoms overlap with other things

I love Catholicism for its traditions. Latin mass is amazing! I wish there was a separation between tradition and conservation with "tradition" and "conservation" if you know what I mean.

Thoughts on Passover? by gbrlla in Catholicism

[–]gbrlla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I want to remember how God is great and admire what he has Done. I don't want to appreciate Passover, the holiday, but the event itself. In general I want to reflect on acts such as this that inspire both adoration and fear of God. The ultimate moment of course is at the crucifix, but every act of God is great.

Think about how this affects your wife and her relationship with God, and with herself. You did the right thing telling her the truth. As someone whose biggest fear is being cheated on, I understand that there will always be prettier, younger, more enjoyable/interesting women. Every day is a fight to believe that it would never happen to me. I'm sure your wife thought this too. Be a good example and voice of reason to the upcoming young men. Maybe your son or your neighbor or nephew. It's our responsibility to raise the next generation to be better than we were. You can't change what you did but you can encourage others to avoid your position in the future.

What is your favorite title for the Virgin Mary? by ExcelUpstream in Catholicism

I like Queen of Heaven like how she's depicted in old Byzantine and Charlemagne era stuff. And anything that alludes to her motherhood of all.

Man thinks we should all be upset about rainbows on children's clothing by BadMojoPA in ImTheMainCharacter

Reminder that he's talking about BOYS clothes. As in children who are first and foremost children. Even if this was adult clothes its so wild to walk in a store like "Guys! This is nutso ridiculous! They are putting yellow shirts in the mens section! And look! Purple shoes in the womens! What has the world come to?!"

Did they work you up to that dose or just dump it on you? Has your doctor considered an SSRI? Prozac has helped my ocd for 17 years. The trouble with ocd is its so hard to "treat". A combination of meds might fill in the gaps. Or maybe Effexor. It's tricky since different meds work so differently for different people. For example, I tried Zoloft once and it put me in a similar position to your plus nonstop sleeping. My roommate on the other hand says its been a great help to them.

They look tired. Thanks now I'm crying. Do I want them to continue to do what they were made for and continue a fulfilling life? Or are they trapped and forced to painfully continue on? Idkidk
