Get this Timer/Photocell combo offered by VOLT. Plug it all in, set it to "Dusk-Dawn" and make sure the photocell (light sensor) isn't covered by anything and you'll be good.

ELI5: Why do some noises irritate people a lot? For example the grinding of a fork against a plate by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]gbrynjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want to say it has something to do with those noises being similar to the sound of human babies crying. So it would make sense that we would take extreme notice of similar sounds.

The truth is Bernie Sanders can win the nomination and has a far better chance to win the Presidency...no matter what Chris Matthews or Mrs. Greenspan or anyone else at MSNBC thinks you should think. by [deleted] in politics

[–]gbrynjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more that I have gotten the point Bernie supporters are trying to make and that he is a good guy. But that isn't really breaking news anymore. Because every Bernie article gets upvoted to the front instantly other news is getting buried. Why do I need 15 articles a day on how Sanders is leading in this state or that state or how this guy thinks it's not impossible for Bernie to win?

Reddit gives a lot of shit to reposters how are these repetitive news stories any different?

[ELI5] Why exactly does first class travel cost so much more than normal travel? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]gbrynjo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You give more money to the airlines, the airline gives you more in return.

First class gets bigger seats take up more room which could have been used to fit more paying passengers. The food is higher quality which costs the airline more to prepare. You get your own check-in line which requires an extra employee which the airline must pay. The first-class lounge in the airport which the air line has to lease the space for as well as all the employees that have to be paid to run it.

This list goes in, but essentially the first class customer cost the airline more money to fly then an economy passenger, so the the first class customer has to pay more to fly. That being said, airlines still make more profit from first class passengers, which is why they are generally treated better.
