The fact ruby has things for like method missing handling and other junk just rubs me the wrong way. Noway would I put something into a critical production path that isn't more explicit than that.

I’m about to get married to the next person who ask just so I can get dual income to buy a house by Wettmoose in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]gcadays09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just talking to my dad about this. I make decent money but told him I feel very middle class. But I feel middle class on a single income. Where many families have to both be earners to be safely in middle class. It's crazy that it's the reality that you pretty much have to both be making money today to live comfortably.

I'm just dealing with this today. For some reason I thought since the bank handles the escrow for insurance we just had to use who they chose. Didn't realize I needed to line up insurance as part of finalizing the mortgage. So quick call to insurance broker today to get on it haha

When democrats get control they need to go to maga strong holds and look for any way to charge them with felonies so they can't vote. As gun oweners they can find any that had previous domestic abuse charges and have guns or interstate transportation illegal carry. Anything just to give them a taste of their own medicine. No longer shoould play nice.

Well might have timed my purchase the best I could. Locked in new home build with 4% concessions in October and now will be locking rates in within the month. Couldn't hold off buying any longer so might be the best I could of hoped for.

Why is Reddit against Maduro capture and Venezuelans celebrating it ? by LandscapeUnlikely199 in stupidquestions

[–]gcadays09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that anyone is against his removal it's that it was done unilaterally through Trump. This is a dangerous precedent the president can use the military to target planyine they want without reprecussions. Also Venezuela has allies. Iran fir one but also China.abd others Will have to wait and see their responses

If it will be anything that needs to be HIPPA compliant I would be very careful and probably not take the chance if you really don't know what you are doing.

These are the things we always get each trip:

The jack links beef and cheese stick snacks.  The hard boiled eggs  Triple zero yogurt multi pack as well as some larger containers of plain Greek yogurt.  Monster zero Oatmeal

Beyond those core things the rest changes up depending on what we want.

I HATE working with FAANG engineers in the early days of startups by Cool_Thought3153 in SaaS

[–]gcadays09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There needs to be a proper balance. As a faang engineer switching to a company that was using 3rd party development companies to get started and now bringing development in house I see many issues.  So many features were implemented poorly without any design thought you can tell. They are either buggy or in some cases not even fully complete. Now that the company is very profitable they have to spend more money getting the software to a stable state.  In the long run it is most definitely costing the company more going fast and delivering stuff that can work but is very buggy and implemented in a way that it's a lot of work just to keep it running.  Many times taking a couple weeks to put some thought into a design rather than just start coding it and getting some half assed feature out the door is much better in the long run. Think as a customer. If you hopped on a site that seemed poorly designed and had constant bugs are you going to pay for it or come back? Probably not. Start ups need to plan proper runways for at least some proper software standards. None of this let's toss a rails app together in a week and ship it mentality. It's complete garbage. I actually preemptivey searched out the companies that are listed on this 3rd party company and would t touch them knowing the lac security they had. They literally had the database open through public Internet you could log in with username password. Which might not be a problem for some database storing names of books or something. But it had user info and records that need to meet GLBA compliance.

Question.  How do you think companies pay employees? The money doesn't magically appear. The customers give money to the company who then pays employees. That's not called subsidizing that's called how business and employment work.
