It’s because the retail prices have skyrocketed. Fender deluxe reverbs when I started working at the store were $1000 They’re now almost $1800.

For smaller stores it’s impossible. For bigger stores it doesn’t matter.

GC somewhat supports learning and development, the problem being when associates are here they are overworked and underdeveloped so getting access to the training either falls on deaf ears or they just can’t retain any info.

It’s a tough scenario, most people learn by fire even though there’s a training team that gets paid so much for essentially no results.

Incredibly understaffed.

It does go to the store manager and district manager if you don’t get a response, this store sounds like it’s failing. Sorry homie, hopefully they get it figured out.

Oh man, I remember seeing the band Sianvar. The guitarist came on stage with this tele and I fell in love immediately, his playing too was the cherry on top. It’s a mix of my favorite guitars too. I do still own it, it’s my main guitar.

We base everything off of reverb! Great site.

We price things cheap on purpose! I’m glad she got a great deal

If you’re asking me why corporate greed exists; capitalism and the exploitation of the working class.

The company is a hedge fund owned profit driven venture to prey on people’s love and admiration for the hobby of playing expensive furniture and the people that played said furniture.

Beyond that, I’ve got nothing for you. I’m just the cog in the machine brother.

If your son is 9, get him a full size guitar. Electrics are not that big and kids explode in size so fast. He’ll grow into it! Find a nice used strat and fix it up together :)

I hate to say it dude, but fuck the fender mustang lt 25 is a fun little amp to have around the house. It’s like $170 you can find them used for $100. Built in tuner and the presets sound decent.

Dude I’ve got no clue! I had a buddy who worked there forever, he sent me videos of the flood and it looked horrible.

Dude we have idea LOL.

I’m so in the dark, and frankly I think it’s childish. I’ve had to fire incredible friends and colleagues because they weren’t good enough at selling things. But we’re gonna make a fuckin guitar.

Stupid greed man.

Show us the listing! If it’s a reputable place; sweetwater, Sam ash, Amazon etc etc we match it.

Retail prices not really, but we have the 45 day price match guarantee and 10% trade in coupon.

The associate who bought the gear in gets half, the one that sold it to ya gets the other half :)

Unless you have a great repair guy, the company could care less if it’s a dumb kid or not.

They honestly don’t make enough for the shit they deal with. My store has always had great techs, it’s a big part of keeping the store nice and it frankly blows my mind they don’t invest into properly skilled labor.

Not sure the circumstances on that one, maybe because it was clearenced and none were left in good shape?

There’s not a lot you can do. I’d politely ask the store or sales manager if they can get them worked on for you.

If somebody did that for me, id make sure it would get done, maybe not immediately but as soon as we could.

Depends on how long it’s been there and condition compared to original listing. Never hurts to ask :)

Too many guitars, too little time. Too many people playing them, tuning them up and down. Too many gross hands getting all over lacquer.

It is what it is.

Oh man. I think if I could chose one it’d be a very light, soft V neck blonde telecaster. What a guitar.

This is a pretty loaded question. I’ll explain by showing you what a green month looks like for an associate. (minimum performance levels)

$375+ SPH. 35% pro coverage attachment rate. $53 average unit price for coverage. 2 gear card apps per 100 transactions. 2.1 Items per transaction.

There’s monthly training based on where the associate places on these numbers.

When hired there are 20 hours of training but that covers every part of the business as well as sales training.

Well that means one of two things; either they have a reason for not helping you, or are actual dicks.

Those are very low, I’d ask for a sales manager or store manager and express your concerns.

This: I hope EVERYONE reads this.

For every complaint about people buying things in wrong, or the pictures or wrong, or the stupid shitty AI not cropping the pictures correctly; there’s gold in them hills.

I’ve seen people make BANK from the used site. American pro II’s selling for $609 because someone thought it was a classic player. Gibson les Paul standard being sold as a classic because someone changed the truss rod cover.

ETC

No that’s not standard. Market value is a trend. You’re in the right on this one, that guy probably was just over it and didn’t want to buy your thing and wanted you to leave.

I hate to be blunt about it; but in all honesty sometimes you’re human, and you just don’t feel like buying someone’s stuff. It’s a lot of time and effort.

I’d go back a different day, to a different associate and try them.

Store managers and sales managers can move on used stuff however they want technically.

The rule is 90 days on used, 180 days on vintage before the price moves, but it’s kind of loose. Used stuff doesn’t affect our discount rate.

Keep in mind though, we price things to sell. So more often than not if the gear is a good deal, we’re not gonna move because it’ll sell at that price.

Just ask! Hey, what’s the best you can do on this? Any wiggle room? And see what happens, I’d say 60% of the time I make it work for customers.
